A man, wearing a thick coat and acompanied by a handful riders stumbles upon Umber's doorstep. He claims to be Sir Garse Redwyne, uncle to the ruling lord of the Arbor, and sent by his nephew's contractors and shipwrights seeking good timber for the isle's dockyards. How long did it took for them to arrive to Last Hearth is hard to ascertain, but probably long months of sailing.

Hoarfrost Umber grants them entry, and a seat by the fire. They're offered roast mutton and hard cheese, and some thick brown ale. Hoarfrost himself, a mountain of a man, sat at the opposite end of the hearth covered in bear furs. "You're a long way from home, Redwyne." He said in his ponderous voice.

"Doo long. Thanks for the hospidalidy"

He complains, buried among furs. He was a fat, balding man, with a thick beard trying to compensate the lack of hair atop his round head.

    "Atchooooooooooo"

Garse cleans his nose with a handkerchief.

"I bedieve I caughd a codd. Anywayh, I came hede to conducd bussiness"

"I shall have my maester brew a potion." He said, a smile growing on his face. The children of summer always fared poorly this far north. "To strengthen you for your return journey." He pulled his stool closer. "Now, what business could you want with the Umbers?"

    "Dhanks"

He said, removing some filth from his reddish nose.

"We need dimber and sadly we could only find such a fine wood this fad Nordh. The suppliers nead dhe Arbor are running dhin on wood already"

"Been making that many boats, eh? Well you saw all we have coming, and you'll see more going down the White Knife. We mostly only use it for firewood." He took a long drink of his ale "What does the Arbor offer in return for my timber stands?"

"Wine, vinegar, cider... All the variants of drinkable stuff. From a flask of Arbor Gold for yourself do barrells of cheap red wine for your men. Nice for winder, righd?"

    He said.

"Some food would also be able to be shipped this far north, like apples and pears"

Hoarfrost looked unmoved. "Pleasant things, but not of much use to us. Perhaps the Arbor could offer something more useful - gold."

    Said Garse, confused.

"Gold, money, dragons." Hoarfrost clarified. "I will sell you my timber at a price to be determined annually for as long as you shall require it."

"How unfortunate." Hoarfrost replied, stroking his beard. "I had quite hoped we would be able to come to an accord."
