    Default The Beauty of Man's hands-{IMAGE HEAVY}

Hagia Sophia-Istanbul/Constantinople/Byzantium/city that people care too much about

    Sistine Chapel-Rome/Vatican

    Alhambra-Granada

Aachen Cathedral, Germany(Burial place of Charlemagne)

    Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Mosque of Sultan Ahmed-Istanbul/Constantinople/Byzantium/city that people care too much about

    Statue of Liberty-New York

Suleyman Mosque-Istanbul/Constantinople/Byzantium/city that people care too much about

    Taj Mahal-India

    Chichen Itza-Mexico

    Kremlin-Moscow

    Walls of Novgorod-Novgorod

Lotus Temple-New Delhi(Bahai worship center. Very modern)

And now saved the best for last:

    Maclellan Castle-Kirkudbright, Scotland

There are so many more, but these are ones I feel particularly appeasing. Things like the great wall and pyramids of Egypt are absolutely astoundingly. Simply not the most beautiful. At least in my opinion. Feel free to add your pics.

Also, something tells me we that, Istanbul/Constantinople/Byzantium/city that people care too much about, must be a great place to visit

Those excellent architectures, and I applaud the engineers and workers who put them together.

Also, I always thought the "Kremlin" that you have posted is actually called St. Basil's Cathedral.

Rare are the building that are actually beautiful and that were not a waste of money. In france, the state wasted too much money on buildings that are really ugly. Like instead of making ugly stuff, i'd prefer my money to be, at least, spent on cpoies of some of the most beautiful buildings of the world.

    Example?

For example Versailles was actually spent entirely out of the King's pocket, not the states. And Versailles ugly? I beg to differ, I very nearly put it up here.

Nooo not this. I'm talking about modern stuff, also of unused and unfinished buildings. And things like this kind of stuff.

Sometimes they waste money to make things that are more ugly than this and that cost more money.

Baah, Religion is the single greatest killer. It has brought us far, but we don't need it anymore since we are alot smarter now... Besides religion has never been anything but a power tool to control people.

What are you talking about? Go to the religion forum with that. BTW, people kill people. We are the single greatest killer, no matter how smart we are. Smarter ways to kill. Dumb people always get caught, while the smart keep on killing.

Anywho, there is one building that I have always marveled at for its simplicity and engineering.

Just looking at some of these pictures bring me back... I'll still say that the Pantheon was most surreal.

Although offtopic, this argument is the dumbest I`ve ever read on forums, no offence (I`ve also read it elsewhere). How do you explain the sudden appearance of beings that can think and build such marvels through science? How do you explain the concept of infinite? How do scientists, or even geniuses, explain these things? We aren`t even close to smarter.

You know OP, it's funny you posted Aachen Cathedral because I just finished a paper on Gothic architecture in 12th Century England, and one of the books I was reading was written in 1915 by an Englishman during WWI. He said that although he wasn't able to survey German Gothic, there was no need to, since Germans merely copied the French and made up for their poor designing abilities by simply building bigger and taller as compensation.

Just a little tangent I thought was interesting.
