Uthor and Raymar are escorted within the boundaries of the southern tower where a feast had been laid out. Walder sat at the head of the table surrounded by his uncle and bastard brother. Stevron, Raymar's nephew, as present as well in the charge of his mother, Perra. "Welcome to the Twins." Walder said with a heavy slur. He had clearly been deep in his cups already "It is far too log since we have last seen one another." He said with a wet smile. "Please come and sit, drink of my wine and eat of my bread. The Seven know that it usually costs a pretty coin in this part of the world." He said with a prolonged, wheezy laugh.

Taking their seats the two men sit down and partake of the offered food and drink. After taking a long sip Uthor addresses lord Frey. "It has been to long Lord Walder, It is a pleasure to dine with you, and I see my dear Niece fares well." Ramar now takes his turn to address the Lord of the Crossing. "We appreciate your hospitality Lord Frey, I see the Crossing is as sound as ever, as is my daughter, though I am sure there is more reason for your invitation than to share your food and company.

"Straight to the point." Walder said with a laugh "Just the reason we get along so well." He added. After he had their wine tankards refilled, he began his discussion in earnest. "Have you met my brother, Aegon, or my uncle Frankyln? Both are knights within my household." he said. His tone revealed that they were not necessarily welcome additions in his household. The two men seemed disintersted. Aegon was much like his brother, though a bit younger and better built. His uncle, Frankyln, was an austere, grey knight. He sniffed his scallop disapprovingly.

Raymar Royce answers the Lord "Outside of your wedding I do not believe I know your brother Aegon, but I am familiar with your Uncle. I believe we first met at the tourney at Whitewalls for your sisters wedding. Looking over to the man he gets a vague nod "Yes, he unhorsed Harbert Paege,... but that was near 30 years ago"

"I was a younger, and more nimble man then." Frankyln said with a yellow smile. "It was a wondrous tilt, my mare was inexperienced and young, but I was able to correct this by some fruitful use of..."

"Yes, yes very well." Walder said impatiently. "Mine uncle's prowess will be known from one end of the Kingdom to the other if he is allowed to continue his tale, no doubt." Walder licked his lips "And this is my half-brother, Aegon Waters. Bastard though he is, there are some uses I send him to."

Aegon remained more or less unresponsive. His eyes flickered up to them men before him and quickly returned to his food, cutting the pork sharply.

Having an idea what Lord Walder is after, Uthor Royce looks to Walder Frey and responds, "Both seem to be of good repute, perhaps one of them would be interested in spending some time in the Vale.
    A short pause
"There are many opportunities for a young man to prove himself, the mountain clans send out raids constantly, and I am sure my brother could use a good lieutenant."
cracking a smile at the old veteran now
"Or if Frankyln here wishes to relive some of his glory days I am in need of an able commander for the Runestone garrison; someone who can instill discipline and order."

Walder was pleased that his meaning had not gone unnoticed. "If it is good fighting men you require, I can think of no better man than my own bastard brother." Walder replied without any shame. "He is an accomplished knight, I am sure he would be put to good use in the Vale." He could barely contain his glee at the prospect of being rid of the man.

For his part, Aegon remained stoic. "Set me to a task, and I will see it done my Lord." He drained his goblet, his brown eyes flicking back and forth.

"Well Lord Walder, I am sure we can put him to good use. Was there anything else you wish to discuss, Runestone is quite a long ride and I do not know when our next visit may be?"

A raven arrived in response to Lord Walder's invitiation which had been sent earlier to Stone Hedge, saying that Lord Tarrence Bracken would be glad to join him for a meal.

A few days later, the man himself followed, accompanied by his impetuous younger brother, who was much more of an age with the lord of the Twins

The party was welcomed with all honors and led into the south tower where a large feast was being prepared. Walder Frey and his uncle were present in the grand chamber. Wine, Ale, ad Cider was served alongside bread and hard cheeses at first. Walder was pale and appeared so skinny as to be corpse-like. He was nonetheless a gracious host. "Lord Bracken, you do us a great honor by being present here." He said with a smile as he smacked his lips together. "I do hope you have enjoyed my hospitality."

"Ah yes, it has been most lovely. It is well documented that the Twins are an ideal spot to find a fine spread for the hungry and thirsty." Tarrence replied, in his somewhat distant, dreamlike way. He took another careful sip of the fine wine which had been provided. His eyes danced around the room, occasionally alighting upon some of the more impressive tapestries that graced the walls of the hall. "Your house has only prospered in recent years it seems. The honor of attendance is mine. I regret that I have not made the short trip here before, as I find I quite enjoy the comforts, and company which I have encountered here so far."

Tarrence's brother Rolund, meanwhile seemed to be paying little attention to their hosts, preferring to spend his time drinking, laughing boisterously, and flirting with serving-women and highborn ladies alike. It was not too troubling for anyone who knew the reputation of the "Wild Horse," Rolund Bracken, who cared seemingly only for wine, war, and women.

"You're too kind." Walder replied half sincerely. "And how fares your young daughter?" he took another sip of his wine, not breaking eye contact with his guest.

The lord of Stone Hedge offered a small, doleful smile. "Hm. You seem to remember incorrectly my lord. I have no daughter, but a niece, who is the child of my late second brother Brynden." He sounded somewhat detached, but in reality was anything but. "But it is good of you to inquire into her well-being. Young Lysa is quite well, she is an inquisitive child and a rapid learner. A bright spot in the lives of all who know her to be certain."

Sensing a possible direction of the conversation, he continued, still sounding as if he meandered aimlessly through the words, but with some intent. "I seem to recall that there is a younger member of your family as well. How is young... Waldo... is it?"

Walder made a mental note to abuse the maester who had misinformed him about the girl's relationship to Tarrence. "Waldo, my youngest. Still on the wet nurse's tit, though I'm sure he will grow into a fine young lad. My eldest, Stevron, is nearing seven namedays." He said with pride. Stevron was at the table, and snot ran freely from his nose pooling on his upper lip. He looked sickly, even if he had never been seriously ill. "Soon he must leave the light hearted pursuits of childhood behind. As my heir he must begin his training early, and I must secure his future. Perhaps Lysa and Stevron would make a match."

Tarrence glanced down the table toward the boy as Walder mentioned him. He did not look particularly healthy, nor physically able. But who am I to be concerned which such thing thought Tarrence with amusement as he glanced briefly down at his own smooth hands, which had held a sword on as few occasions as possible. "A fine suggestion, Lord Frey!" he said with heart. It was good to be able to secure Brynden's legacy by taking care of his children. "I would be proud to see young Lysa promised to your son." Rolund might feel differently, but he was otherwise with the ample amount of alcohol that had been provided, and when he found out it would be too late to do anything. Tarrence was confident he could handle him then. "Perhaps we should arrange a meeting between the two soon?"
