Save games not appearing in main menu

I’ve been playing a campaign with Portugal lately and got to around the 100 turn point when I decided I wanted to start a campaign with France. Upon starting the French campaign, my old Portugal save files no longer appear in the Saved campaign menu. They are still within the save folder within the Roaming files for Empire in the Users area of windows explorer. Does anyone know how to restore the older save files?

Are they definitely in here? Apparently things like an OS update can wipe your saves as its in the C: drive, otherwise, idk what your problem is

Windows XP:

My Computer -> Local Disk (C -> Documents and Settings -> -> Application Data -> The Creative Assembly -> save_games

Windows Vista & 7:

Computer -> Local Disk (C -> Users -> (Your Folder Name) -> AppData ->Roaming -> The Creative Assembly -> save_games
