Default The One Truth - A Otomo Narrative Role-Playing Campaign

Premiere of the first Narrative Role-Playing campaign, created by The Wise Coffin. Much work as been put for the story to faithfully represent the time period and to convey the cultural difference by making the characters speaking their native languages, or the modern day equivalent. This first NRPC is played with Shogun 2 Realism +, a mod for Shogun 2 with the Otomo clan. Start watching this new type of Total War storytelling!

It was said that i could post this type of video in here since it could be considered as a AAR, so here's also my post of the series in here.

A second offensive against the Shoni clan is being arranged by Yoshiaki. Hopefully taking them out of the Northern war in Kyushu. At such time an alliance with the Ito clan is formed with the marriage of Otomo Yoshiaki with Ito Minato.By performing his Genpuku (Manhood ritual) Yoshishige is ready to be in his first battle. So he shall go to Kobayakawa Chikaharu in Buzen province to fight against the Shoni for the sake of his clan.

You know, I was sure I'd commented on this since its arrival in the WS. But apparently not. I do apologise.

Anyway, it's great to see this here, The Wise Coffin. I hope we can look forward to more?

A great listen. If only I had a mere fraction of your skills.

A creative, innovative and enjoyable AAR! The use of native languages is effective and I like the way that you introduce the different clans and the challenges which the Otomo face in their first battle. (I think that your chapter length of 15 or 16 minutes is well-chosen.)

Good update! I like the way that you weave in-game events into your narrative. I enjoyed watching the Otomo deal with their dilemma over the atrocities committed by the foreign soldiers. I'm impressed by your use of dialogue in Japanese between the characters, as they discuss events in the campaign.

After the Gaijin Trouble in Buzen province, Otomo Yoshishige wishes to pardon the Nanban sailors. To do that he must take a risky move to repay the harm they have done. This, unfortunately will bring unexpected events.

I suspect that edging closer to another religion is not really the same as making the bold leap. Will this be a slow and stead towards conversion or will there be some severe tests of faith to come in future chapters? A very good tale. Well done. I feel a bit guilty with free admission to my theatre seat.

That's the nature of youtube, in which i totally agree with. It is just unfortunate that now, with the new ad policies on youtube i started to make no money at all. It would be a dream of mine to make this a profitable hobby or even like many people are doing nowadays, making it full time. This videos take alot of work, so i must try and make my work worth the effort. In the future i shall open a patreon, so hopefully people that want to help more my content can donate there.

Mori Motonari, one of the most influential warlords of the 16th century japan, has glared upon the wars in northern Kyushu; intending on expanding to the west. While in Tsukushi province a titanic showdown is taking place between the Ito Otomo alliance, against the Shoni clan, in what culminated in the Siege of Fukuoka.

Otomo Yoshishige's mission through the southern lands looks like a potentially dangerous one. The Otomo army in the north looks powerful, but this episode made me want to know whether its strength - and the support of the Ito - would be enough? Using the siege as the climax of the chapter works well.

After the Pyrrhic victory of Fukuoka the Otomo use the rest of the upcoming years to rebuild their army, while several other events occur near them. One is the massive Ikko Ikki revolts in the Chugoku region that are sparked from Mori Motonari's conquests. The other is the sudden behaviour of the Shimazu clan, that is bulstering their forces, ready to make an attack in Kyushu.

It seems that the Otomo are governing their captured regions more carefully than the Mori. It looks like the Otomo are facing new threats from different directions. I wonder whether the Ikko Ikki will hold on to their regions and what the implications of the actions of the Shimazu will be. The encounter in darkness (or fog?) involving bold Otomo Yoshishige is well done!

The Portuguese begin to encroach into the orient, with desires to establish bases in japan for turther trade with other asian nations. Meanwhile the combined forces of the Otomo/Ito Alliance begin to march upon the last province of the Shoni clan, that backed up by several clans, decides to hold against a siege for a final stance.

Good update, I enjoyed the variety of elements including the Otomo/Ito plans against the Shoni, the way that the horrific natural disaster is shown and the diplomatic and trade developments. The position of the Otomo, caught in between opposing factions, is challenging and your AAR shows this well. The arrival of the 4th Portugese Diplomatic Mission to Japan is nicely done.

The Shimazu begin their attack. Breaking their truce with the Ito clan, Shimazu Takahisa marches his army with the intention of capturing Hyuga and Bungo province; becoming the most influental warlord of Kyushu. Yoshiaki gathers the remnants of his forces for an epic clash at the castle of Fu'nai.
