    Lepidus Family-Members
    Gaius Aemilius Lepidus(deceased)

    Plebeian
    Ranks: Paterfamilias, Senator
    Economic Branch: Agriculture
    Current Office: N/A
    Age: 120BC(42)
    Traits: Wealth +2 Battles +1 Auctoritas +3 (Traits=1 Character Dev=2)

    Servilla Lepidus(Wife)
    Age: 115BC(37)

    Marcus Aemilius Lepidus (Son)
    Age: 89BC(11)

    Lucius Aemilius Lepidus Paullus(Son Adopted)
    Age: 96BC(18)

Bio: Son of Quintus Aemilius Lipidus; the third son of a minor plebeian family he was raised to take over his uncles estate and maybe aspire for Aedile one day. He grew up fast and smart, a necessity of the times. He spent his summers with a till and scythe in hand, and his winters with his nose in a book learning oratory, numbers, and strategy. This cycle continued until his 10th year when a run of disease fell both of his uncles; leaving his father as Paterfamilias and him his heir. Now with his status and wealth raised overnight, his father saw fit to send young Lucius to Rome to study under a family friend, one Gaius Scribonius Curio a orator and statesman of some renown.

For the next few years he learned Rome’s ways, while still finding the time for the occasional bit of fun. A favorite pursuit of his being gambling, especially against the merchants from the port. It was there that he discovered the riches and variety the world had to offer. Determined to see it he first tried to sign on with a ship, only to discover that while his spirit couldn't be deterred, his body certainly could, a bout of seasickness ended that route. His tutelage would continue for 2 more years, and upon reaching his majority at 15 he had mastered his studies, his father now arranged for him to serve under a calvary commander putting down the slave uprisingsin Sicily. A rather safe opportunity to gain military experience, and also an opportunity for his son to travel somewhat and see the republic. In Sicily he learned the art of war and how to command men, in Gaul at Vercellae in 101 BC he learned of the barbarity of the world and after 5 years of campaigns he returned to his family domus to take up his duties as a man of rome, his education complete.

His faher having shaped his son the best he could was now able to stand down from his duties and retire, Lucius would now be expected to start his own political path. He would spend the next year preparing, improving his family estates and gaining infulence. When the elections of 99 came around he took his first humble step up Romes political ladder being elected to the office of Quaestor, he served in this office for a year, in 98 he was elected Plebeian Aedile, overseeing the distribution of funds for public games. He would go on to serve in a variety of offices over the following years. When the Social war came around he stayed in rome and helped administered the city, already having the military experience, and with so many senators gone, it gave him an opportunity to expand his influence over the senate and increase his support from the mob, so by 89BC he was a Praetor.

The Social War ended but the fighting had yet to end, when the divide between Sulla and Marius occurred, Lucius felt honor bound to support his vote toward Sulla, going so far as to voice a protest in the Senate. This led Marius to have him arrested, an action that would have likely led to his death were a few well-placed bribes that saw him ferreted out of the city. Once free he joined cause with Sulla, riding with him on his march to Rome.

Feeling obligated to repay his gratitude he joined Sulla on his campaign in Greece, serving at first as the Prefectus fabrorum, and then as Legate when one died on campaign. He served in this role for about a year when Sulla asked if he would consider stepping down so that he might reward another long serving soldier, one Marcus Antonius Creticus. Content to return to Rome for a while he returned in time for the next election, gaining the spot of Tribune. This was short lived though, the following year Cinna moved to take control of the Senate, fearing for his life due to his known support of Sulla he once again fled Rome. This time though fate was not so kind, Cinna in retribution had Lucius's father killed. Returning to Sulla he was again given command. This time as Tribunus militum laticlavius of the VIII Legion under the man who had replaced him when he stepped down to return to the senate Marcus Antonius. It is now two year later and the fight between Sulla's and Cinna's sucessors come to a head ,and Lucius is ready for the fight.
