    Default Re: Carbo's Arrival

Carbo and his cohorts arrived outside the city. In his full Consular regalia, it took about five minutes of speaking back and forth with the gate guards before the city gates were opened and Carbo and all his legions passed swiftly into the city. It had been 300 years since the sacking of Rome by Celtic barbarians who dwelt in the foothills of Northern Italy and never had the city closed the gates to a Roman commander in any civil war up to that point. Once positioned within the pomerium under arms,Carbo made the following proclamations which were quickly ratified by his senatorial cronies:

    I. The following persons are proscribed:
    Gaius Furius Sulpicianus - absent
Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius - absent
    Gnaeus Magius Caecilianus - Killed
Gaius Julius Iulus - Manages to Escape
    Octavius Julius Iulus - Killed
    Appius Claudius Pulcher - Absent
    Marcus Valerius Messalla - Absent

    Gnaeus Julius Iulus - Absent
    Sextus Julius Iulus - Absent
    Lucius Lucullus - Absent

Mettius Pinarius Rusca - Manages to escape
    Gaius Antonius Hybrida - Killed.

Canus Calvisius Cotta - Manages to escape
    Marcus Licinias Crassus - Absent

Those in Rome will be subject to a death roll. All characters on the list will be subject to property confiscations in the following ways:

Agricultural Branch - All money held currently in the house treasuries will be confiscated.

    Mercantile Branch - None

Urban Development Branch - Lowering of all tiers of income back to Tier I Class A.

II. Elections of the previous two years are declared a nullity.

III. Carbo declares the levying of a new legion in the Campus Martius, as well as the levying of replacements for his depleted legions.

IV. With all of this accomplished, Carbo leads his army through the south gate and draws up, prepared to fight the decisive battle of the war.
