Thread: Battle/Combat Speed

    Default Battle/Combat Speed

    Is there anyway to slow down combat during battles? I am currently very frustrated as both friendly and enemy units can be shred to pieces in seconds, which doesn't make sense from neither a gameplay perspective nor a historical perspective.

    Yes.
    There is a battle speed dial right on your battle map.
    If the slowest setting is still to fast, you can always pause the battle to give orders, then watch it play out.

    You can then adjust the following in data/battle_config.xml:

    <!-- global combat balancing factors -->
    <combat-balancing>
    <missile-target-accuracy>
    <infantry>1.0</infantry>
    <cavalry>1.6</cavalry>
    <elephants>2.2</elephants>
    </missile-target-accuracy>
    <melee-hit-rate>1.50</melee-hit-rate>
    </combat-balancing>

    The melee-hit-rate is like a global control for combat speed.

    Cheers!

    Looking forward to RC 2.0
