Help with Inspires Civil War

My current campaign as England and my past one as Venice, my faction leaders kept getting inspires civil war traits, and the Venice one going all the way to having the generals do that whole 'rebel' thing with 0 movement points. I'm at war with the Papal States, and they don't want to ceasefire. How can I stop this trait from coming up? And my King has full authority and the majority of my generals are pretty loyal.

Make peace with the Papal States.
As England, or Venice, all your neighbors are also catholic... so being at war with the Pope gets you excommunicated and all other catholics start to hate you (including your own generals and your own people).
Either sue for peace (bribe the pope), kill him or wait for your king to die. All these things will get you back in good graces.
