    Default Unusual AI behaviour: unrequited gift

    The AI just gave me a gift (229 denarii) out of the blue. It came from a faction (the Ptolemies) that I'm not even allied to and a few years ago we even fought a brief war. Also, we don't have mutual enemies and recently I refused to sign an alliance with them. Is this a normal behaviour? I've never seen anything like it.

    I've had that happen before. I thought they were trying to get on good terms with me and I let my guard down. A few turns later they attacked one of my cities with a full stack.
