    OK, so in my honest opinion rules, for the most part (90%) should only exist to cover discrepancies that the game creators didn't think about when they made the game. Discrepancies that give a faction an advantage over another faction such as movement points after defeats.

    I feel like the game should have as few restrictions as possible as to give the player as many tools as possible. If you make up a rule that is not needed to cover an unfair advantage you either do it because it breaks some set mechanic that was not suppose to be broken but otherwise the more tools a player has at his disposal the more depth a game gains.

    I could expand greatly on this subject actually...
