    Default DLC for Ancient Empires?

    Hey,

Will we need any DLC for ATTILA to play the Ancient Empires mod once its complete?

With the steam sale on all things ATTILA are 75% off.

    Thanks.

No you won't . We might add extra campaigns down the road but that won't be for a long time

    Fantastic!

One question, how many troops can Attila/Ancient Empires handle?

In Roma Surrectum i play with huge setting and around 8000 men in each battle..

tends to be somewhere around 3-4000 men a side, my Attila doesn't cope too well but I've seen youtubers do around 10,000 men battles without much lag

That would be a unique USP at this point.

Combining the fresh idea from Roma Surrectum and the graphical update from Ancient Empires.

Actually 8000 vs 8000 would do but in my opinion not enough.
12 k vs 12 ks was more (at least) closer a consular army, but nevertheless remember the Teuto-burg forest...

For my point of view i rather wait a year or two, until the mod is optimized to handle that kind of figures
    12 k vs 12 k...

It's not even a matter of mod optimization in my opinion but rather, can the Attila engine handle that many men at once? 12k vs 12k I doubt it.

What do you mean about the Roma Surrectum fresh idea? Most of the mod is based around the idea of RSII

    I mean this!

In the excellent mod RS 3.1 my computer can handle 4000 vs 4000 men in each battle (with additionally 8000s men)

    Whats the fresh start?

Well many game-owners has really high strength dsp and gpu:s why not try
to implement the rigorursly amount of at least 20,000 vs men at each battle, to at least go
    fairly accurate.

The most historical battles had at least 20 K armies in it.
Or at least a standard consular sized army

-The fresh idea is that RS.3.1 Alexander.exe cant handle that many soldiers.

Until EA unlocks that specifix exe nothing is to be done.

-Thats when the fresh-part comes in...

Ancient Empires 20,000 vs 20,000 men (to focuse on that real time strategic warfare)
minimun, i know AE has plans for it somehow...

I have seen clips on youtube with 16,000 men that runs fairly good.
    but not yet 24,000 though...

    But why stop there?...

These sort of figures just aren't feasible, unless you want us to develop our own engine and our own game with our imaginary time and money that we all have...
