Default Removing vanilla unit from building

When i delete the unit I want gone from a building chain nothing happens. My mod is not overriding the vanilla tables in this instance and I cant figure out why. I dont want the unit gone from the game, as I simply made it recruit-able from a different chain. Anyone had this issue with a vanilla unit and hopefully know how to fix?

Yes, this is a big problem. Add somthing working good, but remove not.

Do copy 100% the vanilla building in your mod. Do name the file same as vanilla one.

I'm not sure if this works.

Yes its tricky, alot has changed since the last time i've modded. I figured it out though for the most part, some trial and error is needed it seems as not all vanilla files behave the same.

could you share how you made it work? i just started modding and i thought its impossible to remove vanilla units, at least if you want your mod to be compatible with other mods.

You've got to directly edit whatever table it is, and not give the table a prefix thing. As you said, it generally does ruin your mod's compatibility with other mods.

You can override the entry in the building units allowed table by making a new entry with the same unique ID number. This way you don't need to copy the entire table.
