Re: Greetings from Nora
Beautiful!
Hijacking the thread to recommend another ancient place to visit in Italy; Paestum on the south-western mainland. It has three large and very well preserved ancient Greek temples (~600-450 BC). I visited it in the summer about ten years ago. I've been to quite a few other ancient sites but this one stood out to me, in part because there were so few other visitors. It was a very powerful and awe-inspiring experience to walk around among those mighty temples almost alone, without the usual hordes of tourists. Of course, I can't promise it's always like that (especially since this was ten years ago). But I don't think many foreign tourists go there, and it was probably before the start of the Italian vacation season .
