Sorcalin gazed at the Daedric force which was a well of activity and knew well what would be happening , momentarily, and so she signalled the first auridon drummer to beat a call to arms , as she lifted one of her slender arms to rub her close cut hair.

The somber drum , drum, sound brought all of the experienced first marines to order, and the first marines formed up in battle lines , reading for the sally of daedric forces , who had finally reached the end of there food supplies and perhaps their patience. The steel armoured lines of armoured pikemen stood at the front of the line , with armoured swordmen behind , and a large line of heavy archers behind them to provide firesupport.Cavalry held the flanks and the justicars stood at the rear , to turn any routers back into action.

Slowly the great gates of the daedric fortress began to creak open , as the altmeri began to see the red glowing eyes of the daedra as they began to flow out of the fortification, a horde spewing out in front of the fortress forming up into one giant mass.

"Mer of the First! We have trained this for day, like many others , and if you hold your lines , we shall prevail like we have done so , in many battles that have come before!.............Think of your homes today!....Think of those back in Tamriel who are loved and safe , for our duty here!....But if you fight well today, you shall return home to them , or at least stand before Auril , with glory shining on you!" , yelled Sorcalin from in front of the first auridon marines.

"So you fight hard today!.... Fight hard for your brothers and sisters of the first! But most of all fight hard for the memory of ayrenn! "

Slowly the pool of those daedra who were joining the back of the mass, from exiting the fort began to slow , as the last few daedric troopers joined the rear of the mass, of troops . The deadra at the front , were yelling in anger , at the interlopers in there lands , waving around double bladed axes as if they were of little weight, and glowing red/ black swords of glowing embers which were rather prevalent in the dull grey gloom of coldharbour in oblivion.

The daedra with seemlingly little command , began to pull away from the mass of trooops in dribs and drabs as at first, a few began to ran forward at the mer , yelling all there bile and hatred at their foe , until slowly more and more joined the charge, until the whole mass behind them ,caught up in the bloodlust , began to mass charge at there enemy who had kept them sieged up in there fortress.

Sorcalin took in the weight of the charge, with a look of a season campagner , yelling at Rimiiss Loreaen to take command of the rear lines, and act , as they had practised, before she herself draw two slim slightly curved blades, with glowing runes of power down there length, which glowed bright in the gloom , before taking a warstance ,infront of the line of pikemen.

Two deadric warriors ahead of the others charged the merish general , for thy where way ahead of the mainline of the charging mass of daedra, and Sorcalin met them with the grace of a experienced and seasoned warrior. One of daedra was a hulking redish demon wielding a giant two handed axe, and the other a smaller man sized foe with a glowing sword of pain. Interposing herself between the two combatants see stabbed at the giant, at its torso , catching its attention, whilst spinning around slicing one of blades sideways cutting the arm of the sword user. The sword daedra's blade fell withs its arm severed and the smaller demon screeched in agony, Sorcalin reacted cat-quick seeing movement behind her, with the large daedric pull back its giant axe over its mishappen head, as it prepared a mighty blow. The merish general , spun again , reading the situation , and thrust one of her swords deep into the giant daedra's neck, before cartwheeling out of the way , whilst the giant axe descended as the giant sought to catch the mer in its death throes, which unfortunately only caught the armless daedra who only had time , to look up in horror at the decent of the mighty weapon.

After the giant struckdown the other daedra , cutting it into two , it sunk to the ground , as the neck wound , had been fatal , and sorcalin had time to dart in , to recover her weapon before she lifted her weapon high , covered with blackish oze of the daedra.

"Ooorah!" called the marines in a rolling multitude of voices, seeing victory of there commander, as the pikemen now moved into a bracing set position , as arrows began to fly overhead ,aiming for the mass of the enemy troops with some magic of the justicars likewise following suit. Sorcalin , wiped her forehead , clearing away some of the dust from battle and shuffled in ,behind the pikemen, yelling encouragement.

"Not a step backwards , you of the first! Remember your training , and you shall be victorious!" she yelled.

"Ooorah!" , yelled back the first , as the armoured swordmen drew , there blades, and other missiles and magic was hurled overhead, to again slow and damage the black and red skinned juggernaut wave that neared the merish line.

There was a massive crunch as the daedric line hit the line of armoured pikemen, some areas momentary were pushed back, as here and there massive daedra penetrated the line due to shear size and furiosity, but the rearenders quickly moved forward to push back the enemy , and armoured swordsmen quickly darted forward with Sorcalin helping, cutting down any major threats. The line stablised , as the pikemen, began to shout.

"Ooorah!" called the yell , as the first line of pikes heldback there enemies , whilst the second rank poked , felling what they could.
"Ooorah!" , called the marines again, a note of victory in there voices, whilst the third rank poked forward, felling yet more, whilst the arrows and magic continued to fall down from the rear. The cavalry had moved off to either flank and now charged with lancers forward , harrying the flanks of the daedric army, which had become boxed with long spears or pikes hitting them from every angle[or at least it seemed to them].

"Of the First!" , cried Sorcalin, and each of the pikemen moved from a front to a side standing position , in one smooth motion for all of the ranks, such was the training that was ingrained.

"Switch!" , cried Sorcalin , and the armoured swordsmen , smoothly moved in formation , taking the front of the line , interlocking there shields forming a giant ring of iron , facing the evil creatures of the dark.

"Foooor-ward ! ", cried the merish general, as the pikes began to stab in formation , on the sound of the beat of the drum which echoed from the rear, forming what was probably the nearest things they had to a buzzsaw. The daedra tried hard, against the the now unifed and solid line , which began to move forward , with jabs from three ranks of pikemen , and the occasional attack from the armoured swordmen who held a shield of steel. The daedra had never seen such training , as the rear of there line , pushed against the front , eager to be in battle ,but at the front of the daedric line ,they were trying to back up , as there was nowhere to go except into the multipronged attack to there front.

The cavalry under command of there own flexible commanders seeing the more aggressive forward movement of the line , changed there tactics from hit and run , to a committed charge, crushing the two flanks of the enemy army , felling scores from the lancers blows alone , but equally crushing the daedric army and denying them room to manoeuvre.
Crushed from all sides, with troops falling on both flanks , and a continual line of advancing death from the front , confusion hit the daedric ranks, and first comprehension , and then fear struck them , as the daedric warriors knew , that this was not going as things were supposed to happen and the rear of the deadric line began to flee in small pockets.

So the trickle of routers became a flood , seeing the signs of fear in there enemy, Sorcalin indicated that the marines should go for broke , and the armoured swordsmen were unleashed on the breaking daedra , with the cavalry now chasing down those that fled as the daedric forces, changed from being a army to becoming targets, as they fled the field.

Sorcalin took a deep breath, happy that all had gone as planned, as their forces, both searched the deadric fortress for anything of use, but refused to take those otherwordlyquarters , instead settingup camp next to the otherwordly fortress , whilst the rest of the first celebrated in the background , to victory in battle.

In the bleak lands of coldharbour , the forces of the bosmer , equally were facing another fortress of daedra ,who sallying out , but the bosmer had in preparation dug pits and traps over the ground , the daedra had to traverse to attack the bosmer forces. The daedric sally turned into a debacle , as the resulting daedric charge stalled in such obstacle's, whilst all the while the bosmer arrow waves hit them , second after second. Each black wave of arrows, felled more and more , of the resultant horde of troops , and there forces grew more scattered , as the arrows took there own toil on the horde, which continued to bunch together , making each arrow storm, more and more damaging. By the time , the daedra army had pushed past the obstacle's, the bosmer archers had long since putdown bows, and taken up hand to hand combat weapons , against the more manageable numbers of the daedric army group , which was little trouble in disposing of. Like the altmeri , the bosmer , did not wish to quarter in the daedric fortress, and preferred to camp in what they considered was the plains in this foul place, as they sought the next challenge in this bleak lands.

    --------------------

{the town of Brackenleaf is built around a ancient sentiate tree , which can actually speak :-
    "Good, good. I think you will find this forest is full of new things to discover. Never ate a frog and found yourself talking to a tree before, did you? Of course, not all things you discover here are safe." [one of the famed words of brackenleaf himself ] }

King Aeradan with his royalist army containing the royal guard , and another made up force representing the Southern Bosmer peoples arrived at Brackenleaf, placing the city immediately under-siege , digging siege line , and building small towers , to oversee the isolation of the city , whilst they awaited the Khajitt contingent, which had promised to arrive with Trebuchets , which would enable them to break the walls of the city , enabling a immediate assault on the daedra controlled city.

King Aeradan mused that the bosmer nation was now fighting the daedra both in this world and in the next, and wondered what was left for their people , if they fell in either?, Would the daedra return stronger than ever? It was imperative to finalise the diplomatic moves to form a alliance with their fellow joint powers of Tamriel , and from his contacts , he knew that the khajiit and altmeri factions had both made a firm ceasefire with all the Daggerfall Covenant factions, and that if he could establish a ceasefire with both the orcs and the wayresterian factions, [perhaps near the imperial city] , the dominion and the covenant could actually finally form a alliance , that would perhaps give there people a better chance of survival in this world and the other.

    Turn to khajiit faction.

Little was known about what was happening with the khajiit forces back in oblivion in coldharbour , but the khajiit forces were not idle, as Razum-dar led a division of fierce khajiit warriors backed by a mighty trebuchet company, which arrived at the town of Brackenleaf , which had been occupied by daedric forces.
King Aeradan and Gorinor the lucky had already arrived and the town was surrounded by the eager forest warriors , who were more than happy to settle the score for the bosmer slaved and dead, the daedra had dealt with. It took little time for the experience Khajiit warriors to settle within the siegelines and to establish a firing position for the trebuchets , who started there bombardment with heavy rocks.

Three days later, the walls of Brackenleaf , had been broken in five places, the rubble of the said walls , provided a ramp over and into the settlement , and the eager khajiit volunteered to lead the attack into the breaches supported by massive firepower of the bosmer missile forces. Two days of bloody combat followed , and the khajiit assaulted all the breachpoints , making those positions a scene from hell , as khajiit and daedra fought in a furious hand to hand combat, followed and preceded with massive arrow storms, which paved the way to assault after assault.

On the third day of khajiit assaults , King Aeradan spotted a breachpoint which had'nt been reinforced as much as the ground required , and lead his royal guard into the breech point personally, dodging magical attacks , he clambered his way up the rubble, and personally sent company of royal guard, into the weakly defended point, whilst organising more assaulting companies to follow.

The royal guard was a good choice to exploit the situation as, with there own magical weapons , they killed deadra more quickly than perhaps others could achieve, making the difference in troop numbers dangerous low for the daedric defenders and the new assault companies, the king had fed into the breach , soon broke the back of the defenders before they could be reinforced.

But they going was still not easily, as the now desperate daedra committed there last resources and reserves into the broken defences hoping to push back the bosmer and regain the breachpoint . Blood was split in abandon, as the combat became frenzied as the daedra hurled themselfs at the royal guard, but they would not be moved. Aeradan fed ever more bosmer reinforcement companies into the breach , to help the guard hold the hardwon ground , and hold they did for the moment.

After two hours of combat , the bosmer were on the point of shear exhaustion , and the king thought they would have to withdraw the attack and give up what they had gained , but suddenly the daedra fell back a little from pressing the attack , with there ranks parting as the daedric lord , Marruz who commanded the troops moved forward, dark miasma surrounded his form , and his footsteps left burn marks were he had stepped. A giant daedra-lord , eight foot tall , with multiple glowing red eyes, he was , encased in thick jet black plated armour,he looked like some evil god had made himself present , and the bosmer began to quail in fear.

One heroic bosmer hurled himself from the heights of the rubble, at the foul form , only to find his now broken body hurled into the nearest wall , when a massive black hammer hit him in mid-air.It was at this time , when even the royal guard, were in doubt , that King Aeradan stepped forth , with now a few mages, in his footsteps , as he looked down at was the enemies warleader.

"Not a step backwards , I say! Those Bosmer families that have been dispoiled are in need of redress , and I shall bring the full weight of justice upon you , to pay the full cost of your folly!", raged the king , drawing his family sword in one smooth motion, as the two mages, cast spell after spell on his form , with defensive and supportive magics. The royal guard, shook the weariness and tiredness from themselfs and hurled themselfves at the hestiate daedra army again, and backed by khajiit and other bosmer forces, the combat continued ,as the two leaders prepared to duel.

Two royal guardsmen hurled themselfs at the mighty daedra , and sparkes flew in the air , as the magical weapons met magical armour of the daedra.
The guardsmen scored multiple hits before the great hammer, knocked one guardsman to the floor several metres away , and the other began to withdraw backwards , as the king of the bosmer advanced as Dominion leader met the Deadric general on the rubble. The footing was uncertain for such a match , but the slope of the rubble provided the king with much advantage , as it took away the advantage of the daedras height in some fashion , if he was carefull, and two leaders slowly paced around , trying to seek a advantage.

Marruz moved first , his over large lumbering form , stepping forward , and swinging his giant hammer, which Aeradan easily avoided by jumping backward. Aeradan knew that meeting the hammer with his blade, would be a stupid manevour as he couldnt match the shear power of his foe.So he began sniping at the giant daedra, firing various magic attacks of lighting and cold to annoy and weaken his opponent, which on first impression did little effect. Occasionally the odd solder ran past the combat , joining battle with the ever continual fight behind the leaders.

Sometimes the giant daedra swiped out at such troops as they ran past, and the distraction of their duel , motivated Aeradan to a idea , which he put in motion the next time it happened.Eight minutes later, the oppurnity arrived, when a bosmer halberder troop ran to reinforce the advancing bosmer push , and unfortunately came within easy reach of the giant foe, before he realised his mistake. The halberdier looked up in horror , at what he had encountered and began to back away, when the daedra swung his hammer, to fell what he considered a gnat, smashing the young bosmer trooper, with possible broken bones , across the battlefield , where his fall , was broken by landing on both bosmer and daedric combatants below, who all fell to the ground.

In this small time of oppurnity, the king , lept at the giants deadric leaders back , wedging his feet into the sliding plate armour , he light footedly climbed his way up , till he stood on the now raging giants shoulders, avoiding its movements, and waving giant hammer , plunging his sword into the gap between shoulders and neck plates, driving it halfway inside, where it lodged .

Marruz roared in pain and agony , trying to swat the king , who jumped clear and rolled away. The giant daedric stumped forward, howling in pain , smashing the hammer down , seconds after the king had moved, the rage giving the mighty creature, quicker speed and purpose but the king was still swifter yet. But fate still had a part to play , as the bosmer king stumbled after standing and trying to reach the fallen halberdiers weapon , and that was when Marruz caught him.

One giant hand picking up the king turning him around and bringing him close to stare into the kings face to see a recognition of fear or impending death perhaps , but the king didnt move or struggle . The battlefield quietened in this area of the field, as both forces from both combatants , stopped there fighting to look at the dualing leaders, uncertaintly and hope , in each others eyes.

Marruz decided that this was his day his victory was complete, and dropping his hammer , he bought his other giant mit of a hand , closer to the king , to strangle him to death , and perhaps smash the morale of the bosmer troops within there view.

Aredan saw the move , and acted with his last hope , reaching forth his hand , and unleasing a last giant bolt of electricity which hit the half protruding kings blade, which still stood stuck in armour , and inside the foul creatures form. The resultant white hot lighting flicked as it hit the blade, disappearing into the very depths of the creature, bypassing its thick armour which held in the heat, and into its internal mass, forcing it into incredible spasms of pain, where it shock uncontrollably, and in the shaking the king fell to the ground.

Steam rose , from the jerking form as it preformed a last dance, its limbs forced to move , to the electrical signals , until released from the pain of magic it sunk to the ground , face up.Aeradan knowing a last chance when he saw one , picked up the halberdiers weapon , rang forward to the fallen giant , lifting up his jet black face mask where his eyes connected with the daedric leader , who's red eyes spoke of ancient hatred, before he pushed down the halberd into its face, again and again , until there was little left, apart from a bloody black and red pulp.

The bosmer forces, cheered at the victory of there king , and took up the fight with renewed passion , seeing in the king , a chance that mere mer's and khajiit could prevail.

The Giant daedra form of Marruz began to fade, leaving the kings sword, smoking on the rubble , and many of the daedra howled , as likewise there summoned forms began to fade from this world , to which they had been called. Other daedra still stood and fought, but there was little hope for them , as the last bosmer army committed its full strength and even the mightiest of the daedric warriors were overwhelmed by sheer numbers.

The bosmer king felt around his body , checking for wounds and feeling his injuries , as the mages ran forward to provide magical healing , but Aeradan waved them way , directing them to see to his soldiers, mindfull that their need was greater, but he did slump to the rubble , reliving the battle in his own mind , and hoping beyond hope , that the forces the peoples of tamriel sent to Oblivion could end the pain of these devils from beyond.

The forces of Sorcalin in the gloomy lands of oblivion had been transported to another location in the bleak lands of Coldharbour . When the mist that had enveloped there forces had departed, and the terrain had changed , Sorcalin began to worry , for without there defences , there forces were possibility in danger, and scouts had been sent out anew to find out about there new location. When it was found that the khajiit contingent was found nearby [although much depleted] , Sorcalin was ecstatic, and both forces moved closer for mutual support. Less comforting was the orcish force which lay nearby besieiging a daedric fort , but the two dominion armies sat nearby hoping to provide what supplies they could to there nearby ally.

    ----------------------------

High King Aranias observed the buildup of altmeri forces , on the borders of his nation, expecting bad news , as he had heard of warfare between the forces of the covenant and the pact in the far north. He didn't know whether such news was accurate , but precautions were always best to be taken . Despite that , the diplomatic corp had reached out to the forces of hammerfall for a alliance , in the hope , that such coordination might prove something of aid, to the beleaguered forces within Coldharbour.

Back in Oblivion , the forces of the bosmer expeditionary army had been joined by a massive army of Dunmer commanded by Aldryn the Just. Both sides were equally cautious in this unheard of diplomatic situation, but both commanders knew they had to work together for the greater good. All Deadra threats had been extinguished in this area of Coldharbour ,and the two forces, settled into a uneasy coordination , as they readied for the tasks ahead.

    ------------------

Brackenleaf had been handed over to King Aeradan by the forces of Razum-dar, in a small ceremony where the bosmer honoured the khajiit dead [some might say they just wanted more bowstrings] but it seemed strange to both parties , over this coordinated fight against the otherworldly foe, for bosmer territory which some still remembered , was land both sides were fighting over within living memory. But both partied now almost cordially , as the khajiit forces departed for home , and the King of Bosmer , set his people to wor,k at patching up the damaged settlement , as he marched northwards , to shore up the much needed northern defences of his kingdom.

The bosmer kingdom seemed almost tranquil in peace, with most bosmer dreaming about there own destinies to come . Better coordination had come between the forces of the dominion and the Covenant , but there was trouble on the horizon in the north , as there had been reported some acts of violence against two of the three . Aeradan had asked the Covenant forces to secure better diplomatic links , but they had responded that they had nothing to send to help such a thing come to pass. Cheapskates & Barbarians! Aredan thought , as he ordered his own diplomatic corp to move to the imperial island, to secure the last remaining ceasefire of the dominion , against first the wayresterians and then the orcs, to cement the peace, they felt was needed to combat the deadric threat.

The Mane sat in his own personal quarters within Torval and looked again at the new trade figures with delight , for previous seasons , many finances had been lost to corruption , as black marketers' had taken advantage of new imperial and argonian territory taken , as full control was not cemented into the population. With the new trade from the current peace , further monies were available and as such they had been invested into government offices around these new acquirements , and the resulting extra control , started to reduce the corruption which ate into the khajiit's tax income.

With the resultant boost in profits, the khajiit planned to refit Razum-dars returning army group and further finance a additional eastern fleet, with more ships being sent to the western coastline. The army of course would benefit as well with a additional rapid response and special desert division and possible magical battalions which were thought to be beneficial for future operations, if such the need arises, if conflict was continued. The khajiit were ever eager to make greater profits , but the Mane knew that a longer path , was required overall , to steady what he saw as the military buildup against the forces of the Covenant on there western borders.

Let me know if I forgot about any admin duty in the last few turns, as I was in a flux for the most of this month...

    Alliance Events

    I. Daggerfall Covenant

    The Withered Hand, Part II
(part I is on the first page)

The Children of Suturah have returned!
A group of necromancers called the Withered Hand threatens the Alik'r with attacks from risen dead. Led by the brothers Uwafa and Alasan and their sister Shiri, they plotts to take revenge for the death of their father Suturah. In order to raise a more powerful army to strike back against Fahara'jad, they needed to remove the protection the Ansei Wards provided. They bypassed the magical seals on the doors of the Impervious Vault by tunnelling directly into it. Once inside, they stole the Ansei Wards and escaped. They began to search for the birthplaces of the Ansei guardians, as these locations were required conduct dark rituals and corrupt the wards, weakening their power In doing so, this allowed the brothers to not only raise the deceased people of the Alik'r, but also their most legendary ancestor warriors. Redguard king is against ordering his soldiers to strike down the honored dead. Such an act would cause an outcry, and possibly lead to rebellion. Instead, he calls upon the Ash'abah to aid him once more...

A Withered Hand host led by Uwafa has taken over Tuwhacca's Throne and begun using the consecrated remains of fallen redguard heroes... A location of Shiri and Alasan is unknown for now...
    PIC

    Effects

    - Most of redguard warriors refuse to fight the risen dead. In regions controlled by the Withered Hand, and regions bordering it, redguard armies may not move into open or attack the Withered Hand unless led by a member of ash'abah. Armies already outside must head for the closest settlement and stay there, unless picked by an Ash'abah. Marimah, the leader of the ash'abah (you started with 3 members of the ash'abah, but seems you lost them...), will be moved to a settlement of your choosing at the beginning of the covenant turn. Each turn (except the first one) he can convert one other general into ash'abah (such general must be in his reach). To clarify, ash'abah is present in game as a trait. None of this applies to breton or orsimer armies.

    - All soldiers that fall in a battle agaisnt the Withered Hand will be revived as skeletons.

    - If The Withered Hand manages to hold a settlement for at least 3 turns, they will be able to rise all the fallen redguard heroes from the surrounding tombs... If the Covenant manages to stop them from doing so in any of the fallen settlements, they shall receive a point.

    - If the Covenant ensures that no more than 3 settlements fall into the hands of The Withered Hand, they shall receive a point.

    III. Dominion

    Return from Death, Part I
Attack one Woodheart turned out to be only a distraction for resurecting the corpse of prince Naemon. However, The Veiled Heritance wasnt succesful, and instead they created The Shade of Naemon, a powerful lich. He intends to use the Staff of Magnus to damage the Heart of Valenwood and must be stopped! His undead hordes are first marching against Marbruk. Edhelorn The Silvenar was assasinated (will be assassinated on the dominions turn), thus Valenwood lost one of its most important leaders....

    Effects

    - All fallen dominion soldiers will be revived as skeletons.

    - The Undead musnt be allowed to take more than 3 settlements. If The Dominion manages that, they shall receive a point.

    - Shade of Naemon (the army led by him) can be defeated and destroyed only if Silvenar is present to the battle. If the Dominion manages to destroy Naemon in 6 turns, they shall receive a point.

    - If the Dominion manages to cleanse Valenwood of all the undead troops in 7 turns, they shall receive a point.

Will edit in the events tomorrow, as I gotta run for another party. They dont affect the Pact so its not an issue anyway
