Default Solution for more historically presentation of Germans rosters without sacrifice its playability or make it boring

Germans faction is one of the hardest to balance between playability and historical accuracy. As they were basically fighting whole era with basically units from 1st and 2nd tiers (town and large town level) and on the win in historical grinding. In XC, germans as AI should also able to fight with just first 2 tiers and hold its own as well. Most of high tier units of germans were suppose to be units which under influence from other cultures around which influenced them when they start to settle and living with natives in new land When they go to thrace and dacia, they became Bastarnae. When they migrate to Scythia, they become goths, when they start to taken over celtic land, their units become heavier. And when they start to move to civilized land, they fight with spear and javelin(thorakitai?). So their play style should be similar to Roman's auxilia except that it is germans which adopt new fighting style from conquered people. They suppose to be incomplete canvas which wait for player to fulfilled its detail.

Here is my idea on how to changing in the roster.
    1) Different from other factions, mainstay bread and butter units of germans suppose to be in tier 1 and tier 2 which they suppose to able to use them to hold their own against their neighbour's 3rd tier when AI vs AI. Germanic warband with shield wall is suppose to be its main bread for most of the game which different from other barbarian faction which by mid game their main bread move to tier 3 (germans were barbarian of the barbarian after all)

    2) Tier 3 and 4 in generic roster itself should be limit for germans to represent historical material development shortage of their homeland. Their units should remain light in armour when compare to their barbarian neighbour and highly depending on gimmick ability instead like berserkers, heavy axemen (which suppose to coming with helmet but no/light armour), and germanic pikemen. Or standard armour for its barbarian tier but more expensive (as their elaborate weapon and armour need to import) like hearth companion/thane and germans heavy cavalry.

    3) All good high tier units should be AOR or based on existence of foreign colony in the region.
    - Chosen archer in Dacia/Scythia/Baltic.
    - Highly gimmick night raiders in Baltic.
    - Bastarnae in area with thracian colony.
    - Gothic style cavalry in area with nomad colony.
    - Chosen axemen and heavy spearmen in celtic AOR.
    - Area with civilized people colony should allow germans to train units which fight with spear and javelin and could form shield wall (like what you see in BI, it is under influence from civilized world)

To solved building as requirement for units problem, level 3 & 4 auxiliary barrack of germans faction should have their own special branch.

    What do you think?

That would hamper greatly any kind of defensive German gameplay though. Sadly this is a faction that needs to sacrifice historicity for a semblance of balance.

perhaps giving 'em a +8 bonus when fighting in woods would make 'em superior when defending their Germanic home territory?
