Thank you! Anyway, the downloade I linked to above did contain this fix already.

hey everyone. I tried to follow the direction set made by one of the commentors with the several steps, but i really have no idea what i am doing. I use a demo of express zip (don't know if that matters) but just from the first download, a file of the duke of lorraine is corrupted. Also, i don't really know if i am putting the different downloads anywhere right. In the end, i have nowhere to access the mod in game, and hoped for some assistance from a noob who is only used to accept mods on steam
1.1. https://www.moddb.com/mods/das-heili...eich-v07-setup
1.2. https://www.moddb.com/mods/das-heili...h-v07-part-123 (unpack this into the dowloads folder, launch 1.1., set theinstallation path to ...\Steam (where your Steam.exe is located)\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War (or, if the last folder name in the default path is "mods", add "\mods" to the path above). Then, untick "generate sound files for non-english version" or whatever it's called.)
2.1. https://mega.co.nz/#!eVgT0ZBR!49B1xU...-LtutGtvV_HN3o
2.2 https://mega.co.nz/#!mBh31Z6A!MgJfDA...7zji4UUupxVTfA
2.3. https://mega.co.nz/#!mBRhCQJY!9xZc1W...kdlPNNpXgcVKHU
open 2.1. with 7zip (never heard of your program) or WinRAR and unpack it to your ...\Steam (where your Steam.exe is located)\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\HRR_07\data folder. There should be shortcut on your desctop which leads to a file named medieval2_HRR_07.bat. Head over to the folder this file is located in, right click on it, select "edit" and replace "kingdoms.exe" with "medieval2.exe". Finally, save and use the desktop shortcut (you can move it to any folder on you PC) to launch the mod.

I still hear no sound coming from the mod and the sound is all the way up. Did I do something wrong?
I mean I hear nothing when starting the mod and when I am playing any campaign.
No clue. It works perfectly for me. Perhaps you can fix it by deleting the .idx and .dat files in data\sounds.
Is there really nothing one can do against a corrupted file?
My sound now works for all my mods.
