I’ve never heard of ‘cantonese soup’

I'm in Korea, where I'm about to start a 1-year position as a research professor (i.e., no lecturing).
This week I went to the Chinese area of Seoul (called Daerim). I used to live there, which is why I know many secret delicious Chinese restaurants that cannot be found on any app. They are kinda back-alley places where only Chinese customers frequent. The staff doesn't even speak Korean and doesn't expect Korean customers. I saw a Chinese guy there eating what looked like flour soup. But perhaps it was this Cantonese soup thing? No idea.
Bad writing on my part. I meant, the menu was in Chinese. Since I couldn't read that Chinese, I picked based on the pictures.
By the way, is anyone else pissed off whenever he has to read or hear people say "based off"? It infuriates me every time I encounter it. Even worse, "based off of."
