Funny how someone makes a thread about nostalgia and suddenly all the people of yore starts jumping out of the woodwork.

Aint that the truth. I got struck by nostalgia today, thinking what i was doing around when I finished up school and somehow remembered about TWC forums, came here, lo and behold I see a thread with this title. Also read the news about a certain someone who was on these forums today. it was an interesting time, 2012 and 2013. Might play some TW games a bit now that I am leaving my job that I never thought I would have worked when I stopped actively using TWC in 2014.

Anyhow, how is everyone doing here, what is happening? I assume modding for the newer total war titles is not as strong since it has become much more difficult than just editing relevant text files as it was with M2 which is why it pulls in less new members for the forums?

"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

In all honesty I find both 4chan and Reddit to be equally . 4chan is just to troll and talk . Reddit is just to ask random questions, it's like Yahoo answers.

Nah, reddit is good for communities like say dota2 or r/soccer . Way worse for politics though.

There's too many people on Reddit and no real way of identifying people so far as I've seen. You get a much better sense of community on forums from avatars and signatures and profiles, IMO.

CA needs to find a way to attract the girls to the Total War games. Perhaps a Sims-like section of the game to the royal family would do the trick? Include drama to it. How well the queen raises her children could affect their attributes when they grow up. The size of their palace depends on how much the king decided to spend on it. And the conditions and the appearances of their citizens would depend on the infrastructure and the economic management. Most of all, we need men with confidence who can attract the girls. If any of you exist in here, don't be afraid to post your photos. I'll show the girls.

Seriously? Normally I'd think you're kidding, but considering the level of sexist nonsense around lately I cant be sure.

I have to agree, its a good platform to keep yourself up to date with the latest news from a game/activity/whtever else you might enjoy, but cant be bothered to spend multiple hours reading and replying in a dedicated forum for it.

There's too many people on Reddit and no real way of identifying people so far as I've seen. You get a much better sense of community on forums from avatars and signatures and profiles, IMO.
This is also true, the community there feels less close compared to one you get in a classic forum since it lacks lenghty, serious replies and things like characteristics you notice in members over time.

Probably not, one of them recently(literally a few days back) got a jail sentence back home.

It's nice that this thread lamenting the death of TWC temporarily revived its user base. I've never seen the TD so active outside the Chat Thread.

If you don't mind I will take a glass of orange juice over ice.
