Default Announcements from Mods & Hosted Mods (M2TW)

The purpose of this thread is to act as a place for any and all Medieval II mods and mod teams to share news, announcements and updates regarding their mod.

It is also a thread that will be used by staff to announce if and when a mod has been relocated to a new location, such as from Mod Threads to a Hosted Mod forum.

Interested in mod announcements for other Total War titles as well? Find them below:

All modders and mod teams are welcome to use this thread to post announcements, and likewise anyone may comment, but please keep the following in mind:

    • Please be considerate of other modders and mod teams when making your announcements - in other words, try not to spam this thread, but keep it for your more important announcements. There is currently no limit on how many announcements you can post in a certain time frame, but a limit may be added if moderation deems it necessary
    • Please be respectful at all times when responding to announcements, whether you are a modder yourself, or just a player
    • Presentation is everything! Setting out your announcement in a neat and tidy fashion is a good reflection on your mod. Check out this example from the pros in the Front Page Announcements forums. Feel free to PM me before you make your post if you would like some feedback
    • This thread may be tidied up periodically and posts may be deleted, or edited, to make the thread easy to navigate
    • Staff reserves the right to post announcements on behalf of mods and mod teams, but regular members are asked only to post announcements if they are part of a mod team, or they have permission from the mod team - if you are unsure, please PM me or another moderator

What types of things are counted as announcements?

    • Newly released mods
    • New version releases, patches, and hotfixes
    • New previews
    • Any other significant updates - if you are unsure, please PM me or another moderator

There are two other copies of this thread; one in Medieval II WIPs, Ideas and Proposals and the other in Medieval II Released Mods. An announcement made in this thread will be copied to those threads, and vice versa, as well as to the announcement thread for all titles in General TW Discussion.

Any questions? Please PM me or another moderator.

    Cheers!

There are moments (in history), in which a nation owes,
if it wants to be considered as a great one, to be able to fight.
Even without hope of winning. Just because it has to.
    Greek War motto.
XXI Armored Brigade. Proud that served in that unit in 1996!
"Spartans do not ask how many (enemies are) but where they are"!
    XXI Armored Brigade's motto.
The Greek Secret (or why they will fight again if it will be necessary or why they do not sell their history).

A Map of Ice and Fire, my pet project of sorts, building a map of Westeros and the coast of Essos to allow for multiple scenarios on a grander scale than previously allowed. The Age of Heroes, Andal Invasion, War of Conquest, Dance of Dragons, Blackfyre Rebellions and everything beyond. The map as a clean slate can and will be filled with characters to fill every conflict across the ages. A true Map of Ice and Fire.

Updates posted HERE when available. First video preview is HERE.

Divide and Conquer has moved into it's own forum!

Divide and Conquer is an overhaul of the original Third Age Total War that adds more factions, more units and more unique events. Every single aspect of the original mod is edited in one way or another and DaC gives you the opportunity to play as many of the 'lesser' nations of Middle-earth and asks the question what if: What if the Breelanders rose up and fought; what if Saruman kept the ring for himself; what if the Black Númenóreans had helped the Corsairs of Umbar?

A new and improved preview for the Map of Ice and Fire is available for viewing HERE! Showing off the hole continent of Westeros and what progress has been made over the last month or so of work; along with updates to previously shown areas of the map. I talk about planned changes, features and generally ramble for about 10 minutes about my mods hopes and dreams. It's truly riveting stuff... trust me...

More updates posted HERE when available. Watch the new video preview HERE.

    - Size of mod increased from 956mb to 1.39gb.

    Link to forum:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forum...Baltic-Release

    Changelog:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    1. Fixes all the remaining silver surfer officers, captains and generals as well as any other remaining such bug.

    2. Adds missing portraits for the two sami units, as well as some Frisian/Saxon merc new unit portraits.

    3. Changes the names of the Frisian/Saxon mercenaries to more easily identify them as mercs.

    4. Re-adds the vast music-mod from last year - but with heavily edited and cut music tracks this time

    - It's also in use by TLK:WotN - but the difference here is the music in use by the Saxons, Gwynedd, Alba and the two Irish factions aren't included in this mod - while on the other hand the music for the Slavs/Balts and Sami/Finns are now in use once more.

The Viking music for the Danes, Norse and Swedes etc is the same in both mods - but more common in this as this centers around Scandinavia.

    5. Re-uses the old scripts for the single player campaign making the experience much better actually - for hotseat plz rename the "campaign_script"-file inside of data/world/maps/imperial_Campaign to something else - and then name the one labeled "campaign_script_hotseat" as "casmpaign_script"

    - When playing with hotseat most of the scripts doesn't work past turn number two, while on the other hand if you play with working scripts the hotseat will CTD when trying to enter the campaign.

    6. I've also added new strat-models for the Frankish captain and general, as well as made their capital into a town instead of a village - capital is now Osnabruck.

I have swaped some units around for the Eastern Franks in the campaign - they now have a better starting army with more varied units instead of the same sucking infantry - expect more cavalry in the starting army! But the size of the army is only slightly increased with like two or three units.

    7. Also i've implemented new custom settlements for all factions. - Slavs and most Vikings share theirs.

    - three out of four Norse vikings have different styled villages and towns but the same style in large town and cities.

    - sami/finns do use the same as Alba will use in TLK:WotN.

    - and finally the Franks have the Byzantium ones and is the only faction with civilized cities.

    8. Marka Horses implemented as well as new animations.

    9. I have removed the problem with rebel ships spawning in such a mass that it was impossible to use ships in the mod without cheating - now expect the factions to use ships against each other and without the rebels having dominance over the seas.

The mod is pretty much done now!

Place the mod inside of your Medieval II Total War/mods-folder and start it up by doubleclicking the .bat-file named "WotNbeta". The name of the WotN-folder must be "WotN" - also make sure when un-raring that you don't get mods/WotN/WotN - it should be mods/WotN.

Bellum Crucis has moved into it's own forum!

Bellum Crucis is a loyal reproduction of the Middle-Ages in Europe, North Africa, Russia and Middle-Eastern. It features the events happening during the period of the Crusades and Jihads, with powers clashing for the dominion over the Old Known World. The game presents a deep simulation of the royal dynasties, innovative agents with a grading scale, and detailed panorama of units and buildings typical of the Middle-Ages.

    Changelog:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Game of Thrones Submod for Westeros Total War, v. 4.9

    1. Adds all the finished remade basic troops of old factions - minus Dorne because Vltima forgot to send me the new Dornish units. I only ever got the Martells, which are new mid-tiers for House Martell - i never got the basic units previewed in pictures.

    - All are fully implemented now!

    2. Full basic rosters for these minor Houses:

Tully = Bracken, Mallister, Blackwood plus an almost finished Mooton basic roster.

    Stannis/Tyrell = Florent.

Lannister/Joffrey = Marbrand, Crakehall and Lefford - these aren't entirely complete like the ones for House Tully though. - Swyft were rebranded into Lefford and got a new symbol on their shield texture.

It also does add a few individual units such as Mountain Axe Clansmen for House Stark, new sellsword swordsmen, or Cuy Infantry for House Tyrell - basically everything previewed in MODDB is included.

    3. New Frey units, new textures for the Frey units, new remade mid-tier House Tyrell troops, new elite House Bolton troops plus new armour upgrades for these factions. - Also includes a slightly remade and improved group of Tully elite units.

It also adds new textures for the basic Northern units used by House manderly.

    4. Adds the full basic House Penrose (another minor house) units for House Renly.

    5. Added House Frey as it's own faction to the campaign, and with full recruitment.

    6. Adds the House Frey Faction Description, Walder Frey faction Leader portrait etc.

    7. Removes unfinished factions from custom battles, and i mean vanilla ones who sometimes spawned in quickbattles with mercs.

    8. Fixes the portraits that were missing in the mercs-directory, which caused "unlocalized placement"-pictures to show for Riverland units and others recruited by some fations.

    9. Re-made the regional system a little to have less armies with everyone in them - making more units unique for the proper factions.

    10. Adds a huge amount of Warhammer animations if one would want wolfs, dragons, beasts, undead or mammuths etc.

    11. Adds a Warhammer online Dragon model for House Targaryen (three Dragons).

    12. Adds a Daenarys Stormborn hero-model.

    13. All custom units and unit upgrades have gotten new LOD-values in the BMDB - the issue with sprites showing in close distances has been solved.

5.0 will mostly be missing portraits and additions to the unfinished WIP factions - but i will put that on hold and move on to ADOS instead.

I am also expecting a guy to release balance/recruitment (remade EDU and EDB) soon after my release - and so i will update it with these files. This will hopefully make RTS-battles more stable.

A third guy was working on custom settlements in battle. We'll see if he was just talking or if he was serious. Would take two weeks and i think almost a week have passed by now.

Creation of every model, and it's an impressive and amazing number just in this 4.7 version - if we count the ones who aren't included, then he has done a tremendous effort this summer - basic units re-done for all, new elites, new minor houses, symbols, portraits for new units, textures, weapons, models).

Mr_Nygren (modder, everything else new basically. I have worked on the mod both in dec/jan (changes seen in 4.6) and may until now. Implemented all the units to my version of the mod, created some Targaryen symbols in custom battles, made weapon variations out of the raw-files VltimaRatio provided me with in january - creating more Targaryen and Dragon-units than just the spearmen, implemented units to the descr_strat, to the descr_rebels_factions, hidden resources to descr_regions and the units to the edb - basically made the units available in the campaign, fixed the CTD-bug that always crashed the mod at a certain turn plus done additional smaller stuff).

Jurcek1987 - Helped me with fixing a glitch making the Targaryen Spearmen hold their weapons wrongly - also added the Banner Carriers to the Bolton model - using the ones from the Western Overhaul as a base - the textures where then moved from the old carriers to the new ones that worked fine with the Bolton models.

    Game of Thrones V 4.9:

VltimaRatio (unit modeller, all improvements on the models already in the game. Creation of every model but two, - basic units re-done for all, new elites, new minor houses, symbols, portraits for new units, textures, weapons and models).

Mr_Nygren (modder, everything else basically. Implemented all the units to my version of the mod, beaten the CTD-crash that was plaguing this mod, fixed the LOD-levels, added all the Warhammer animations, fixed the missing portraits if they existed, removed unused factions from custom battles, added House Frey to the campaign etc - basically everything but the creation of the models.).

The Return Of Reckoning team (runs Warhammer Onlines current build) - for the Warhammer dragons.
WhiffOfGrapeshot (mod-team-member of Warhammer:BotET) stated this:

"The Return Of Reckoning team runs the current Warhammer Online build, which was released for use. There should be no problems using assets taken from Warhammer Online."

Auc162 - for letting me use the body of Daenarys - created by his friend.

A series of works spanning various settings throughout the rich world of Gorge RR Martin from the Age of Heroes to a Dream of Spring and everything between, sailing from Westeros to Asshai and back again beneath the shadow, braving the doom and dancing dragons. In the Game of Thrones everyone dies. There is no middle ground and only fools believe there are winners.
