Antiouchus and Damocles land south of Salamis without being contested.

What could first be seen was miles of fallow fields, the infamous plague had wiped out many villages. Even so, it was too quiet. The commanders deduced the people had withdrawn into the city of Salamis, and there the banner of Nicocreon flew.

Curiously outside the gates stood a single man -- Nicocreon himself .

In his polished armor he pointed his sword at Antiouchus .

"I have rebelled against your brother. Only I am responsible for this conflict. You want my life...

Come both of you...and attempt to take it."

    Effects
--Nicocreon offers a duel to both Antiouchus and Damocles at once, they can combine their combat against his in a great spectacle for both sides to witness.
--Refusing will be a small morale hit of -5% to the army as it is seen as cowardly, but the siege will begin today

"Discretion is the better part of valor." Antiochus mutters to himself as he commands his soldiers to begin the siege. "Though I should devote some time developing my swordplay once this is all over."

    Battle of Salamis (skirmish round)

    (rolled, cypriots sally forth)
Nicocreon of Salamis was not one to sit idly by as the leonnatid pincer closed in. He had hoped the enemy would have accepted the duel, or Ptolemy to support him, or maybe a foolish assault.

Now there was only one path to victory; through the enemy siege lines

Leading from the front, the King opened the gates and charged with his Epilektoi followed by echelons of hoplites in a formation with shields raised.

Antiochus was surprised at this seemingly foolhardy maneuver and ordered his cretans, uazali, and jews to begin volleys at them as they stumbled across the trenches.

As hundreds died, Nicocreon decried "Cowards, you fight like Persians"

Leonnatids inflict 6595 skirmish damage (average roll)
(all cypriot skirmish forces were engaged in trying to counter enemy fire and lessen the damage)
    Nicocreon of Salamis
    Hoplites 10
    Ekdromoi 6 2
    Levy hoplites 8 4
    Psiloi 2

    vs
    Antiochus of Lyncestis
    Thessalian Cavalry 4
    Jewish Spearmen 10
    Mercenary Uazali 8
    Poeni Militia 4
    Mercenary Cretan Archers 6

    Notes
    Standard battle
-5% morale from refusing to fight Nicoreon

    Battle of Salamis (battle round)

    ooc:busy with payday

    Cypriot Strategy: Leuctra
    Antiochus Strategy: Balanced
On the left: Leonnatid Pyrrhic Victory; Cypriot phalanx put up a good fight with Nicocreon leading them
Center: Leonnatid Pyrrhic Victory The cypriot center held off a larger jewish and mercenary force but when Nicocreon failed to triumph and the leonnatids broke the right they gave up
On the right: Crushing Victory 2 ekdromoi stand no chance against the numerous forces arrayed on this flank and especially not the thessalian cavalry veteran

On right flank, opposing cypriots were just 2 light ekdromoi who were utterly routed in the charge,

    Leonnatid Casualties
    -1 merc uazali
    -4 jewish spearmen
    -2 poeni militia

    Notes
    +Salamis is recaptured
    +Nicocreon of Salamis has disappared
