    I just copied england's entry and changed the faction name to russia,
    and changed the character count from 7 to 6 (england to russia).
    I also changed the faction count from 11 to 12 because a new
    entry has been added. All the changes are highlighted in blue.

    This should work, the clothing should change to England but the shield is still Denmark's

    This is the 2nd mongol unit I add and it's still the same.



    I think that there is some "bug" in the game that prevents the mongol captains(or maybe there're others too) to appear after you gave that unit to some other faction.

    i've successfully added both mounted/dismounted feudal knights but can I give the knights the appropriate colors ? the horses have the rights colors but not the knights themseleves.

    i attempted to what was suggested on the first page but it crashed when trying to load the custom battle, this is what I did: blue is what I changed.

    Hey guys.

    I have created a new faction.."ireland" and have put alot of units available for them..I managed to succeed in doing so..the game ran..no errors popped up..the only thing that I have not done was make the unit cards to be seen..so every unit shows a peasant

    Anyway..the game ran smoothly...then around the 18th turn..it said that the normans are the richest in the world??? whats that about???

    then...two moves later the game crashes?? it freezes up..I check the error log..it shows nothing..just an unexpected error and had to shut down.

    I try to play the campaign again..and now it freezes and wont allow me to do anything..so I have press CTRL-ALT-DEL..and the screen is still black so I have to press M and DEL and then iam back to desktop...can anyone explain this???

    ive spent hours and hours on this and it is fully working..but now this odd event has taken place and nothing I do will change anything??

    When you changed england to russia in that line the character
    count has to be reduced by 1 from 73 to 72. I've created a
    syntax checker for my version 2 of the formatted modeldb file
    that would catch these character count errors before you get
    the black screen of torment. Check out this thread:

    I got the colors right for units themselves.

    I was just wondering if it's possible to get the same colors and design on the unit cards and unit info page as well without using photoshop (which I don't have), I only need it for dismounted feudal knights, I just used france's feudal knights for russia, the colors are similar enough.

    Excellent, my friend! Hmm, I've heard people talk about a program
    called gimp which is free. Do a google for it and see if it does .tga
    file formats. If so, that might be a good way to edit your unit cards to
    what you want without having to buy Photoshop.

    Edit: Just did a site search myself. It looks like it does have a plug-in for .tga
    formats but boy is that hard to find. Their on-line documentation isn't very
    well organized.

    I'm trying to test creating a sergeant spearmen unit for the crusader factions. yet while I do not CTD, the unit I create is totally invisible. I assume this means a problem with the meshes, but I do not understand as they are the sergeant spearmen meshes. Is it perhaps that the mesh does not link with the skin, which is the crusader knight skins? Maybe I need to get 3dsmax or GIMP and set the skin to the model?

    Having the same damn problem. I've overcome the CTDs using the modified battle_models.modeldb and now the game taunts me with invisible units...

    Thanks again KnightErrant for helping these people, you know much about modeldb(of course you made it more easy to edit) It's good to have a helper here when i am away(I am having school problems and can't come to PC so often like old days)
