    Icon8 Kingdoms.exe not found

    Hello

I have just installed Third Age (3.2) for the (feels like) 100000000th time on a totaly clean version on Med 2 Gold (disk version) (v1.5 kingdoms) with UAC DISABLED on the folder. I ran each part (TATW_3.0_Part1of2, TATW_3.0_Part2of2 and TATW_3.2_Patch) as THE ADMINISTRATOR to install it with no other programs running. If I run Third Age normaly from the desktop it starts, then exits and as administrator the error message of kingdoms.exe not found shows.

    Someone help please!

If you are running it as an Admin, then sometimes it shows this error. Right mouse click on Third Age.bat (Batch) file (or, on Third Age shortcut) go to Properties - Compatibility, and be sure to un-check Run as an Administrator option. Apply and OK.

There is no compatability option in properties of Third Age.bat

Strange, in Windows 7 on my PC it has that option.

Try taking ownership of your main Medieval II TW folder (google for: How to take ownership of a folder in "insert your Windows version here") and, later on check to see is your kingdoms.exe (executive file in your main Medieval II TW folder) set to run as an Administrator (right mouse click - Properties - Compatibility). If it is, then uncheck that option, Apply and OK.

Try again to run the mod.

So... I went through all the steps on this website - http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-take-...in-windows-10/ including the optional steps and then went to kingdoms.exe (which did have a compatability option in its' properties) and the box to either run as an administrator or not was already unchecked.
The mod did not start though, either with the error message of kingdoms.exe not found or no message at all depending on wether I run as administrator or not. BTW I have installed before and it has worked perfectly when I have made the exact same installation as I have done now.

I fixed it! - was messing around on the Med II settings - put ON run as administrator on kingdoms.exe (compatability settings) and it worked somehow. It might have been some other random setting I changed but it still works so YAY! DAC here I come!
