Alot of people are asking about installing AD and with other mod compatability. I've had it working myself for a while and have had only one CTD due to an unknown error in 2 days, and not experienced it again, so here for now is a little guide to installing AD:
#1 Download AD from TWC
#2 Unzip Anno Domini Lite Version.rar file to Sega/Medieval II Total War (this should create an icon on your desktop labelled Medieval II Total War AD check to make sure)
#3 Go to your Anno Domini folder in M2TW, usually named AD, copy the fmv and animations, that's fmv and animations folders from your M2 data folder into Anno Domini data.
#4 Open your Anno Domini descr_strat.txt, edit, find next "al Mansur" -> change al Mansur to Rassul. This was a CTD issue, now fixed.
#5 It is advisable to copy your loading_screen folder from M2 data into AD data, (will give you back loading screens) and copying battle.txt, template.txt, templatebackup.txt, etc (all of them) from M2 data/world folder into AD data/world folder.
You should now be able to run vanilla with AD as your only mod without any CTD's.
#7 Compatability:
Installing with Shaba's Diplomacy is simple. Copy Shaba's diplomacy files:
descr_campaign_ai_db
descr_campaign_db
and descr_diplomacy
Into AD/data folder
Installing with Canderlius M2 lite mod, fixes only:
Copy the following files from M2lite/data into AD/data
export_descr_character_traits.txt
export_descr_unit
descr_character
I have not made attempts at compatability with other mods. But as long as they do not overwrite files it is a simple process.
Unless you have specific error issues with your game which are caused by other files, you should now be able to run AD Lite perfectly.
Edit: Everything after step #4 is simply recommended by me as it has worked for me in my game, and also sticks in files that make the game a bit more stable.
Also, just for clarity: These are simply the steps that have worked for me, in 108 turns of my most recent campaign, barring some of the sound/accent problems present, I have only had one CTD which I believe is related to ancillary/trait problems unrelated to the mod.
