    This Mod try to bring more realism and at the same time much more fun in the game.



    Are you ready to rule the world?




    Installation:
    Simply replace your "Medieval II Total War"folder with my.


    Note:
    This Mod dont overwrite your original files if you follow the installation correct, it put only a folder, shortcut and Age of War.cfg to your "Medieval II Total War"folder. Then click on shortcut and the game will start.



    Version 1.2:

    - All factions playable in campaign (except Timurids, Mongols, Papacy, Aztecs)
    - 40 new regions (royal arms) corrected
    - Unitstats "complete" overworked, more historical now
    - More balance between power of Cavalry and their costs
    - Cavalry now cost much more upkeep (Example: Mailed Knights 400 - Lancers 650)
    - Christian armored units got more armor (read about the Battle of Ascalon)
    - Muslim units got more men (read about the Battle of Ascalon)
    - Some Pikemen units as Swiss, Landsknecht... got better bonus against cavalry (cause of their historical victories)
    - Now real Lanceraiders in the game, f. Ex.: Byzantine Lancers, Demi Lancers, Alan Light Cavalry
    - High Level units cost more
    - Shild Wall formation for Viking like units added
    - Many other logical changes for missile units, spearmen units (higher level more bonus against Cavalry or polish nobles, byzantine Spearmen...) and more.

    - Assasins Mod (Assasins more useful)
    - Kiev Rus minor Mod
    - Major changes to Russian Units ---> to reflect the real military of Rus
    - Ultimate AI Mod (mesut) ---> total new AI experience
    - New victory conditions for all factions
    - "Total" new economy ---> Merchantwars
    - Economy is much more based on trade and merchants
    - More merchants from their buildings
    - Less money from taxes and farms
    - More money from trade
    - More money from merchants (merchants very important)
    - More Rebalance the income in direction merchants and trade (final)- Alans fixed
    - Barcelona and Palma fixed
    - 2 turns one year for winter and summer
    - Crusader units available in custom battles for catholic factions
    - New loading screens and splash screen
    - Population growthrate decreased
    - DariusEGs BattleMechanics v0.8 (Harder and more realistic Battles) corrected
    - 2-handed bug fixed (zxiang1983)
    - Skymod (Horsearcher)
    - Projectile-Mod (Darthvader)
    - New faction and units symbols for Byzantines (Kaeserdado)
    - New faction and units symbols for Russians

    I have a request: Could you please give me that awsome splash screen without the "Age of War" slogan? If you got this file in photoshop format you could easily erase the slogan.

    1. Unpack with winrar...
    2. Open Age of War 1.0
    3. The files there u have to copy/paste to ur Medieval II Total War-Folder (readme no need to copy).
    4. At ur Medieval II Total War-Folder is the file Medieval2.preference.cfg, copy/paste that to any other folder and rename the copy to Age of War.cfg
    Then copy/paste Age of War.cfg back to ur Medieval II Total War-Folder
    5. Open Age of War.cfg and write at the end
    [features]
    mod=Age of War

    6. Now save.

    7. Now u only have to click on the shortcut Medieval II Total War - Age of War

    Patched MTWII can be modified.
    Try the russian faction.

    Euhm another question. I haven't done anything with the unpacker simply, because I don't know how to. I can only install mods that install there selves so will this be a problem? If i follow the instructions without doing anything els should it be fine?

    It seems I cannot find it. It's not in the gallery and not in the download section of the website...

    /edit: Forget about. It's not in the german version of this website, but in the american/english version...

    Nice to see a mod with a different focus than anglo-saxon brouhaha. Would be nice with more details on the map and perhaps a screenshot in the first post as well? Хорошее везение!

    Well, since the author hasn't discussed HOW he changed the Russian faction in any detail, even though someone else asked him, I'll just go ahead and write what I've noticed so far from starting a campaign and playing a few custom battles. The stats of the units have been tinkered with across the board. Boyar Sons no longer have javelins, but instead are armed with bows... Thus they are little different from Dvor cavalry... It's the same with dismounted Boyar sons. Druzhina have been give heavy mail or whatever so now they look EXACTLY like every other unit of the Russians (Pointed helmet, long nose-guard, covered in mail, etc. Not that I don't like that look, but now there's little to no variance in the army's appearance). Also, Kazaks have been removed for some reason, and Alan light cavalry is recruitable in the region to the right of Kiev. By the way, Novgorod is now rebel, and the Russians start off in Kiev. Other than that, and the changes he's listed, nothin else has been changed. My impressions? Meh. I appreciate the effort to actually make the Eastern, overlooked factions more playable, but it needs work, and I don't think we'll get a good mod that does that until the modders learn how to add in new units or at least increase the rosters with existing units...

    This Mod dont change your orignal files in any way. It exist on its own.
    Please read the installation instruction carefully, its easy to install.

    Its a folder named animations not more but about 50MB big.
    If you download it once the only thing you have to do is copy it to the folder DATA. DATA is in original MTW2 and every Mod. So you can fix all your Mods without download the 50MB with every new Mod.

    Everything right, even this is not enough. the sulitca (javelin) was a weapon of the lowest ranks, instead of composite powerful bow. The bow was so common in use, that the aristocrasy and peasants use it. So it's correct.
    But it's not enough. The Rus' army contains the levies, junior druzhina, major druzhina (included prince by him self) and different troops of the federate tribes. So, Kozaks may be renamed into Chernie Klobuki, Druzhina and dvor into different minor druzhina, Boyars into major druzhina. VERY needed rearming of druzhinas from axes to swords (one unite may be with axe, but only one), in both druzhinas must be powerful archers wiyh good melee characteristics, needed addition pike units (spears removed from russian warfare from mid of 13 cent).
