Aegon tossed the letter away with disgust. The most recent letter from Lord Cregan Stark. He had only conceded to part of his demands, and refused to send a ‘ward’ to King’s Landing to prevent any further disloyalty in the future. If he wouldn’t follow me during the war for my crown, then he certainly cannot be trusted. This will not stand. Aegon began writing a letter to each Lord Paramount.

Lords of the Realm,

I would call you to arms to depose Lord Cregan Stark for his acts of treason against the Iron Throne during the Dance of the Dragons. Lord Cregan has rejected the requirements for peace laid at his door, and would risk war with the realm. We ride north upon the backs of Sunfyre and Vhaegar to deal what the Stark’s rightfully deserve, just as my sister got what she deserved only a few months prior.

After an hour of writing out each letter, Aegon put his quill aside, and rested his hand. He stood, and looked out towards the harbor where many a merchant and galley bobbed with the swell of the sea. Yesterday his son Jaehaerys Targaryen had set sail for Storm’s End. There he would be a ward to Lord Borros Baratheon for his valiant efforts to snuff out the last remnants of Rhaenyra’s followers. A tinge of sadness filled Aegon, but he berated himself, and reaffirmed his decision, that by being under a skilled commander’s tutelage would give the boy a decent education, and strong voice when he would one day ascend to the throne.

There stood the mighty Titan of Braavos, hundreds of feet tall but it was difficult to truly appreciate the size of the stonework until the exiled King's flagship sailed between the legs of the behemoth. The Titan's Roar was as deafening as Jacaerys remembered from when he was a boy and he first travelled the free cities after encouragement from Daemon, a simpler and more pleasant time the King thought to himself, but that was before the usurper stole his mother's throne and killed so many of his family.

One of the Sealord of Braavos' men greeted Jacaerys and his party as they disembarked from his ship, "Your majesty! It is my pleasure to welcome you to the great free city of Braavos!" the man was too enthralled for Jacaerys' taste and he waved the man off telling him they had little time for pleasantries, the man turned to the King's party and understood allowing Jacaerys and his men to enter the city and escort the royal family to their residence.

King Jacaerys Targaryen will return to Westeros to claim what is rightfully his.

Lord Harrold and his son road at the front of the column, both sat upon stunning white coursers and dressed in fine, richly adorned garments. On Joffrey’s feet were a pair of red shoes, decorated with a leaf pattern and with extremely long poulaines. The Lords accompanying Harrold Arryn also wore their best garments and rode horses of high quality. Behind them was their most trusted retainers, armoured and bearing their lord’s banner with great pride. The largest banner ofcourse belonged to House Arryn, next to it fluttered another great falcon, but this one carried a sword in its talons. This was Joffrey’s personal banner, held up by his squire.

The army followed the murky meanders of the Green Fork, this would take them to their destination, the Twins. As the river crossing grew closer, Harrold spoke to his son and heir.

“I hope you’re right to trust these Iron Born Joffrey. They are known for both their backwards ways and their brutality. I would rather eat dinner on a plate, not off the floor. I imagine too that all they eat is fish, how boring.”

Harrold’s comments got a few smiles and chuckles from those nearby before Joffrey replied.

“They are indeed strange and foreign father, you are correct. But, this is the only way they will ever learn and adopt the traditions of the mainland. On the isolated rocks they call home they keep themselves in ignorance and learn nothing. Now they are here, we can show them the correct way to live. If we are constantly putting pressure on them to change, then we shall achieve what those before have failed to do, showing the Iron Born the true light of the seven and stopping them from regressing back to their old ways. If the Riverlands must be split up to convert them, so be it, a worthy sacrifice.”

Harrold frowned.

“Are you so sure that they will even bother to convert? The King allows the Northmen to keep their gods, why will the Iron Born change if others are allowed to live in ignorance?”

Joffrey smirked.

“The Northmen rule over their own people. The Iron Born now rule over followers of the Seven, they will not allow for barbarism and falsehood in their nobility. Just as the first Aegon converted for easier rule of the populace, so will House Greyjoy if they are to survive here. They are surrounded by powerful followers of the faith, not living with their own kind far away. The conversion has already started, my dearest sister knows what her duty is.”

Harrold smiled and said.

“We shall see with time my son. It is a noble mission you set for yourself if you truly do wish to convert the Iron Born. It will not be a bloodless or easy mission. There is one thing I know for certain however. The Iron Born are renowned fighters, we shall need them if we are to punish House Stark for its treachery.”

The East Gate of the twins grew closer and closer, the black and gold banners of House Greyjoy clang to the castle’s walls and Iron Born manned its walls. Harrold Arryn and his party travelled towards the castle whilst the majority of the army went further north to set up camp. The Arryn’s stopped in front of the gate, the guardsmen atop the castle’s walls inspected them from above. Harrold shouted to the guards.

“We have come North to join your Lord in crushing House Stark, do you offer bread and salt?”

For support during the Dance of Dragons, and loyalty shown to be truer than most, Lord Harrold Arryn will be granted the small council position of Master of Laws, and Lord Elmo Tully will be granted the small council position as Master of Whispers.
