Lord Jason Lannister
Jason is an ambitious man and a fantastic fighter but he is seemingly unsuited to rulership, his younger brother Tyland has the brighter mind and has been an invaluable assistance to Jason’s rule of the Westerlands. Under these two men the Lannisters have risen to a might rivaling the Tyrells of the reach and the wealth in the Westerlands has allowed them immense freedom. The Lannister armies are some of the greatest in Westeros and will no doubt play a pivotal role in the war to come but it is unclear what side the House will support. It was Jason’s father, Tymond Lannister, who swore fealty to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen so it is unclear whether Jason will see fit to agree with an oath made between two dead men all those years ago.
Lord Grover Tully
Once a fine warrior and a loved ruler, Grover Tully now grows old and weary in the later years of his life. He has seen the birth of three grandchildren and three great grandchildren which brought him joy but the old Lord hasn’t been the same since the passing of his son and heir, Robin Tully. His grandson, Elmo Tully is now heir to Riverrun and the Riverlands but his uncles are less inclined to step aside for their nephew. Grover’s youngest son, Steffon, is the best commander in the Riverlands and a loyal commander under his father but he has no love for his nephew. Grover Tully was one of the Lords that swore fealty to Princess Rhaenyra, but Lord Grover is not in good health or his right mind, his sons and grandson currently rule the Riverlands in his name and none of them swore any oaths all those years ago.
Lord Dalton Greyjoy
At sixteen years of age Dalton Greyjoy is the youngest Lord Reaver to command the Iron Islands, he rules with an iron fist alongside his brother, Veron Greyjoy. Veron is the most feared man in the Iron Islands, at the age of fourteen. The brothers are two sides of the same coin, Dalton Greyjoy is a calculated and learned man while his brother is a reckless, bloodthirsty warrior. Despite being young, the brothers have gained the respect of their people with their ruthless stamping out of rebellion and head-on approach to any action they decide to take. It was their grandfather who swore the oath to Rhaenyra Targaryen twenty four years ago, the brothers neither know nor care about the oath that was sworn to a woman on the other side of the continent.
Lord Borros Baratheon
The Baratheons are a proud House that has ruled the Stormlands for over a century, the current lord, Borros Baratheon continues this legacy. Borros was a close friend of King Viserys I Targaryen The key to the Stormlands is a fifteen year-old beauty, Cassandra Baratheon, the daughter of Lord Borros and the most precious jewel of the Stormlands. Borros is a wise lord and will make the decision that best helps his people, the Greens and the Blacks have potential suitors for the young beauty but whether either makes a perfect match is for the Lord to decide.
King Aegon II Targaryen
Aegon never expected the crown, his half-sister, Rhaenyra, was always his father’s favourite and it had been made abundantly clear that she would be her father’s successor. But after his father’s passing Aegon had a decision to made, he could take his birthright as his mother and brothers wanted him to or he could step back. When Ser Criston killed Lord Beesbury the decision was taken out of his hands and Aegon was pushed into the position he never imagined himself in. He was crowned King of Westeros and was at war with his half-sister, but with his mother’s council and his brothers by his side Aegon would ensure that the male line of Targaryens would continue to sit the Iron Throne.
Lord Loras Tyrell
Many have questioned the young Lord of the Reach’s sanity, but he would prefer to see it as ambition. His brothers, Greyn and Meryn, the twin Tyrells are much more restrained in their character than their elder brother. The strength of the Reach is unmatched at this time as the ties between House Hightower and the Crown have allowed the kingdom to flourish. Ser Otto Hightower had been the mentor to Loras since a young age and has passed many of his ideals onto Loras Tyrell, with the influence of House Hightower many would expect the Reach’s loyalties to remain with King Aegon II. However, Lord Loras Tyrell himself has no ties to the King and as he likes to refer to himself, Loras Tyrell is a visionary and has a plan for the future of the Reach.
Lord Cregan Stark
The people of the North are a fiercely loyal people and their lord, Cregan Stark embodies all the qualities that have become synonymous with the Stark family. Cregan is a loved leader and a fine warrior, he has the support of his uncle and cousins as well as the Lord of the Dreadfort through his relationship with the lord’s son, Eddard Bolton. No Stark has so fully unified the North as Cregan since the days of the Kings of Winter. Cregan’s father was very like his son, he had been the one to swear fealty to Rhaenyra and his uncle had done the same. But Cregan is his own man and he may well chose to forge his own path, there is no doubt the North will follow their leader in whatever path he takes.
Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen
Rhaenyra Targaryen was made heir to her father in 105 AC, but she is not foolish, she knew the ambitions of Queen Alicent and the Hightower family, she had suspected they would try something. Still how willing her half-brother was to accept the crown surprised her as there had been a good relationship between the siblings for many years despite the age gap. When she was made heir, the Lords of Westeros swore fealty to her as her father’s successor but many of those lords had passed as her father had so not all could be trusted to follow through on their family’s promises. And so with Daemon at her side and those who remained loyal to her after news of her father’s death and her half-brother’s coronation still remaining so, Rhaenyra must fight for her birthright.
Lord Harrold Arryn
Harrold’s sister had died twenty four years ago, in the same year her daughter, his niece had been named heir to King Viserys’ throne and Harrold had swore fealty to her as had all the Lords. Harrold had been a good friend of King Viserys and had seen him not three weeks earlier and was truly surprised to hear the news of his passing. But beyond that was the announcement of Viserys’ son, Aegon being crowned as King by Ser Criston Cole, a man who had fought with Princess Rhaenyra’s favour at so many tourneys during her father’s reign. Family was important to Harrold as he himself had a family, but protecting his children and his people would have to be his priority. So Lord Harrold Arryn would have a hard decision to make.
