This is the first Hotseat set in the Dance of the Dragons scenario, it is a Role Play Hotseat and as such all players are expected to play the game in the role of their character. The requirement for RP will be upheld and if a player is not participating in the RP they will be removed from the Hotseat.

The Dance of the Dragons was the first Targaryen civil war, it began in the year 129 AC shortly after the death of King Viserys I Targaryen when the dispute of succession arose between his eldest daughter by his first wife, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and his eldest son by his second wife, Prince Aegon Targaryen. Before the birth of Aegon and his brothers King Viserys had seen fit to make Rhaenyra his heir and so she was raised as such, some twenty four years prior to King Viserys' death the Lords of the Seven Kingdoms swore fealty to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen as the heir to the Targaryen Dynasty and King Viserys' successor. But today many of the Lords that swore those oaths have died and so it is up to today's Lords of Westeros to decide if their loyalty remains with the Princess, or if a better successor can be found.

A week after the death of King Viserys I Targaryen his passing was announced to the Kingdom as it had been kept secret by the Green Council loyal to Queen Alicent Hightower. Ser Criston Cole, Lord Commander of the King's Guard soon crowned Aegon II Targaryen the sixth King of Westeros and so the Dance of the Dragons began.

    Background
    Lord Jason Lannister

Jason is an ambitious man and a fantastic fighter but he is seemingly unsuited to rulership, his younger brother Tyland has the brighter mind and has been an invaluable assistance to Jason’s rule of the Westerlands. Under these two men the Lannisters have risen to a might rivaling the Tyrells of the reach and the wealth in the Westerlands has allowed them immense freedom. The Lannister armies are some of the greatest in Westeros and will no doubt play a pivotal role in the war to come but it is unclear what side the House will support. It was Jason’s father, Tymond Lannister, who swore fealty to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen so it is unclear whether Jason will see fit to agree with an oath made between two dead men all those years ago.

    Lord Grover Tully

Once a fine warrior and a loved ruler, Grover Tully now grows old and weary in the later years of his life. He has seen the birth of three grandchildren and three great grandchildren which brought him joy but the old Lord hasn’t been the same since the passing of his son and heir, Robin Tully. His grandson, Elmo Tully is now heir to Riverrun and the Riverlands but his uncles are less inclined to step aside for their nephew. Grover’s youngest son, Steffon, is the best commander in the Riverlands and a loyal commander under his father but he has no love for his nephew. Grover Tully was one of the Lords that swore fealty to Princess Rhaenyra, but Lord Grover is not in good health or his right mind, his sons and grandson currently rule the Riverlands in his name and none of them swore any oaths all those years ago.

    Lord Dalton Greyjoy

At sixteen years of age Dalton Greyjoy is the youngest Lord Reaver to command the Iron Islands, he rules with an iron fist alongside his brother, Veron Greyjoy. Veron is the most feared man in the Iron Islands, at the age of fourteen. The brothers are two sides of the same coin, Dalton Greyjoy is a calculated and learned man while his brother is a reckless, bloodthirsty warrior. Despite being young, the brothers have gained the respect of their people with their ruthless stamping out of rebellion and head-on approach to any action they decide to take. It was their grandfather who swore the oath to Rhaenyra Targaryen twenty four years ago, the brothers neither know nor care about the oath that was sworn to a woman on the other side of the continent.

    Lord Borros Baratheon

The Baratheons are a proud House that has ruled the Stormlands for over a century, the current lord, Borros Baratheon continues this legacy. Borros was a close friend of King Viserys I Targaryen The key to the Stormlands is a fifteen year-old beauty, Cassandra Baratheon, the daughter of Lord Borros and the most precious jewel of the Stormlands. Borros is a wise lord and will make the decision that best helps his people, the Greens and the Blacks have potential suitors for the young beauty but whether either makes a perfect match is for the Lord to decide.

    King Aegon II Targaryen

Aegon never expected the crown, his half-sister, Rhaenyra, was always his father’s favourite and it had been made abundantly clear that she would be her father’s successor. But after his father’s passing Aegon had a decision to made, he could take his birthright as his mother and brothers wanted him to or he could step back. When Ser Criston killed Lord Beesbury the decision was taken out of his hands and Aegon was pushed into the position he never imagined himself in. He was crowned King of Westeros and was at war with his half-sister, but with his mother’s council and his brothers by his side Aegon would ensure that the male line of Targaryens would continue to sit the Iron Throne.

    Lord Loras Tyrell

Many have questioned the young Lord of the Reach’s sanity, but he would prefer to see it as ambition. His brothers, Greyn and Meryn, the twin Tyrells are much more restrained in their character than their elder brother. The strength of the Reach is unmatched at this time as the ties between House Hightower and the Crown have allowed the kingdom to flourish. Ser Otto Hightower had been the mentor to Loras since a young age and has passed many of his ideals onto Loras Tyrell, with the influence of House Hightower many would expect the Reach’s loyalties to remain with King Aegon II. However, Lord Loras Tyrell himself has no ties to the King and as he likes to refer to himself, Loras Tyrell is a visionary and has a plan for the future of the Reach.

    Lord Cregan Stark

The people of the North are a fiercely loyal people and their lord, Cregan Stark embodies all the qualities that have become synonymous with the Stark family. Cregan is a loved leader and a fine warrior, he has the support of his uncle and cousins as well as the Lord of the Dreadfort through his relationship with the lord’s son, Eddard Bolton. No Stark has so fully unified the North as Cregan since the days of the Kings of Winter. Cregan’s father was very like his son, he had been the one to swear fealty to Rhaenyra and his uncle had done the same. But Cregan is his own man and he may well chose to forge his own path, there is no doubt the North will follow their leader in whatever path he takes.

    Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen

Rhaenyra Targaryen was made heir to her father in 105 AC, but she is not foolish, she knew the ambitions of Queen Alicent and the Hightower family, she had suspected they would try something. Still how willing her half-brother was to accept the crown surprised her as there had been a good relationship between the siblings for many years despite the age gap. When she was made heir, the Lords of Westeros swore fealty to her as her father’s successor but many of those lords had passed as her father had so not all could be trusted to follow through on their family’s promises. And so with Daemon at her side and those who remained loyal to her after news of her father’s death and her half-brother’s coronation still remaining so, Rhaenyra must fight for her birthright.

    Lord Harrold Arryn

Harrold’s sister had died twenty four years ago, in the same year her daughter, his niece had been named heir to King Viserys’ throne and Harrold had swore fealty to her as had all the Lords. Harrold had been a good friend of King Viserys and had seen him not three weeks earlier and was truly surprised to hear the news of his passing. But beyond that was the announcement of Viserys’ son, Aegon being crowned as King by Ser Criston Cole, a man who had fought with Princess Rhaenyra’s favour at so many tourneys during her father’s reign. Family was important to Harrold as he himself had a family, but protecting his children and his people would have to be his priority. So Lord Harrold Arryn would have a hard decision to make.

    Admin Faction
    Introducing a playable Admin faction.
This faction will be used to create mini events.
    For example;
    Faith uprising
    Mountain Clan invasion
    Asha Greyjoys rebellion
    Brotherhood without Banners
    Gerold Dayne revolt
    White Walkers
    Iron Bank debt collectors

Each Admin faction force will hold ancillaries which can be taken upon defeat.
    For example;
    Chests of Gold
    Lost Valyrian Swords
    Special armor
    Rules
    2 forts per region
    6 forts max per faction
5 unit requirement for each fort
No excessive replays to insure victories
No watchtowers that could be used to prevent forting
No one turn peace, unless the player has yet not played. (No attacking / entering / forting in enemy territory unless they have already played)
    No Princess Stealing.
    Destroying buildings is not allowed.
All rebel settlements / provinces are out of bounds.
    No diplomat / agent stomping.
PM the next player that it is their turn. You have 24 hours to play each turn before you are skipped.
No bug abuse! When you think someone has used a bug report it here and the admin will look into it. If in doubt, just ask us.No sailing from a blockaded port without defeating the blockading ships, it is illegal to burn down ports in order to get around this rule.
Armies must not end a turn be hidden in ships inside of ports. This is because that army would be unreachable.
No sallying forth in a siege if the outcome is a defeat. This counts towards all sieges including forts.
Heroic victories are 100% banned and illegal. If you get a heroic victory repeatedly, contact an Admin and we may allow it.
Post pictures of battle odds, involved armies, their banners and the results. It is advised to hide everything else, especially the mini map and your finances. (Pictures must be 100% of what is required, no exceptions)
Settlements gifted should disband all units save one. No gifting regions in a war zone ( bordering faction at war with, or under threat )
Armies defeated by a player (b) that comes after the original player (a)'s turn cannot move next turn, so if Tyrell defeats a Lannister army that army cannot move next turn. - Exception: Reinforcing armies standing in defenses, even if defeated, don't lose movement points. So player 'a' is allowed to move the army that reinforced another while in a fort even if defeated by 'b'. Addendum to the same rule: no sallying out of a fort\castle which has forces which were defeated last turn. This is to make it fair for those who come last at the turn order, because they will not be able to do this.
    26. Armies bribed which have used their movement points that turn may not move any further for the duration of that turn.
    RP Rules
All major events must be accompanied with realistic RP, major events include:
Large battles and or battles involving important characters.
    Marriages of family members.
    Breaking of alliances/betrayals.
    Hostage taking.
All RP is expected to be in character and realistic to the scenario being depicted.
One adoption per faction, RP must accompany it.
    The Iron Bank of Braavos
The Iron Bank will now be open for business.
The Bank will be run via the Admin Faction, all players can send diplomats & messages requesting loans at their discretion.
Warning - Unpayed debts will result in the Bank finding its due one way or the other.
    Conquered Kingdoms
If one House is defeated to a point where it cannot survive it will be forced into submission, either the House will be wiped out and a new House from that faction will be selected as Lord Paramounts (e.g. Reyne replacing Lannister). In this instance the new ruling House must be granted at least 80% of its lands back and is loyal to the House that forced its submission for the duration of the Hotseat. Exceptions to this are independent factions (see Independent Factions) taking land by right of conquest and the Royal Factions (Aegon & Rhaenyra).
    Independent Factions
Independence is highly restricted, all factions must align with one of the claimants to the throne. Exceptions being Greyjoy and those with legitimate claims for independence (the admin must agree to the independence and good RP reasoning provided by the player in either instance).
    Finances
Each faction will be held responsible for keeping it's finances under control. If any faction goes bankrupt, the following fines will be issued.
    -4000 = Troop Desertion
-8000 = The Loss of General Loyalty Traits
    -12000 = Faction Destruction
    Captured Generals / Agents
A general can be captured if you have him trapped in a fort/castle you are besieging or could have killed him in battle.
Princesses can be captured if they are just standing in other player controlled lands where troops could get to them.
Any captured general/princess can have a ransom negotiated, and the captor may decide to kill them if they wish.
    Trial by Combat
Captured Generals can request Trial by Combat, in which the admin will use a random list generator depending on the capability of both generals chosen to represent each faction within the trial.
    For Example;
Two formidable warriors in a trial by combat
    Barristan Selmy wins
    Jaime Lannister wins
    Barristan Selmy wins
    Jaime Lannister wins
    Barristan Selmy wins
    Jaime Lannister wins

One poor warrior vs formidable warrior
    Mace Tyrell wins
    Robert Baratheon wins
    Robert Baratheon wins
    Robert Baratheon wins
    Robert Baratheon wins
    Robert Baratheon wins
    Merchants
Majority of the factions have had stage 1 merchant banks created for their cities to allow merchant warfare begin from the start of the hotseat.
Each faction is only allowed one merchant (recruited) at a time. However, this does not apply to bribed merchants.

Before anyone mentions it Soul can claim a faction because he's helped with the mod and has therefore seen the mod already.

One rule says "no excessive replays to insure victory" means we cannot quickload to get another result?

No, I think it is in regards to reloading like 40 times to get a victory when it was otherwise a defeat.

Like bolton said, it means you cant reload 1000 times just to get a victory out of something that's otherwise a defeat/unwinnable etc.

You'd be at a massive disadvantage. I'd suggest getting some experience first. Is a spot here - http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...-Newbloods-VII - for inexperienced players that needs filling.

Arryn-Greyjoy-Tully in that order of preference please.

I'll take Greyjoy. I have no interest in either Targ faction so please do not auto fill me into one of those spots.
