    Possible in EditSF, but much easier and safer in the Assembly Kit. Basically, you want to find ALL the entries for that faction in the various start_pos tables and get rid of them, including the various family members in the start_pos_characters table. You need to remove all their armies, agents, and characters, and give their settlements to other factions. You can do a lot of this stuff in the form launcher, using the starting positions form, but you might miss some stuff just doing that. And so they can't re-emerge, make sure you edit the rebel_faction and alternate_rebel_faction entries in start_pos_regions. You'll know you've made a mistake or missed an entry if the game crashes when you launch, start a campaign, or end the turn.
