    REGIONAL BONUS

    Lannisport

    • Wealthy city: Lannisport is situated perfectly for making money. It sits at the meeting point of the sea road, the gold road and the river road, and is one of the largest ports in Westeros, allowing its owner one additional trade route.
    • City Watch: Lannisport is patrolled by the City Watch, renowned for being far better trained than their Oldtown counterparts. This gives Lannisport an additional 2,000 (distributed as 1,200 Light Infantry, 400 Heavy Infantry and 400 Archers) men for siege defense and -2 to assassinations, spying and escape rolls to foes within the city.
    • Home of the Westerlands Fleet: Lannisport serves as the home port for the Fleet of the Westerlands. Grants the owner of Lannisport an additional 1,000 naval point
    • Large City: Being such a large city with many walls, Lannisport may garrison an additional 100% of its levy and if it is not defended by at least 1,000 men, then it will receive a -1 to its defense rolls.

With the invitations sent and the vittles being prepared, Ser Tygett donned his long silk gown and his thick golden necklace bearing the sign of his office. It was an oval, golden disc emblazoned witht he sigil of House Lannister. As the Shield of Lannisport he was responsible for the defense of the city, the administrative functions of the port, and many other small tasks. This was his reward for supporting Tywin, or at least it was after his cousins vacated the place in favor of Castamere. An odd request, he had thought. Why give up Lannisport in favor of a ruined wasteland? Maybe in time it would be restored to glory, but in the meantime, Tygett would enjoy his new position. The City Guard had been ordered out into the streets to patrol in greater numbers, ensuring the safety of the guests. Tygett and his wife, a Marbrand by birth, soon reunited in the grand hall of Lannisport where the feast would take place. "Myrissa." he said fondly as they embraced and kissed. "Happy nameday." he said with a smile. "Thank you, Tygett." she replied "If only our son was here as well, it would be a perfect day."

"He serves as Jon Arryn's squire, although I admit that I miss him, his position is enviable. Not many squires have the honor of serving a man of such high station."

His wife disagreed. "Jon Arryn is an old man, he will look lordly sitting atop his horse but he will never spur it into battle. Tyrek should have squired for a younger knight and learned how to fight properly."

They continued to argue, waiting for the guests to arrive

A great commotion could be heard from the port of the city, with fishermen and merchants on high alert as a black-painted longship sailed past, the golden kraken of House Greyjoy spread out over its sail. Lord Victarion Greyjoy, the Lord Reaper of Pyke, proudly on the fore, a devilish grin on his face as the green landers got out of the way of his ship. He had been surprised when the invitation had reached him, but he was not one to be absent when offered a seat at a feast.

    Once the
Blood Drinker has docked and the Ironborn had disembarked, the party rented some horses and made their way through the streets to the main keep of the Shield of Lannisport. They were not as great as the one that had gone to King's Landing, but they were quite a few nonetheless. Lord Victarion had brought his wife Agnes, along with his eldest sons Vickon and Maron. Dagon, the youngest of the Greyjoy brothers, had also joined in, eager to get away from the isles and look for a potential new bride. The Ironborn made their way to the keep where they introduced themselves.

the Harbor Tower would in other times have sounded the alarm at the sight of ironborn ships, but having been warned in advanced, the bells did not toll. The Greyjoys were to be treated with respect. Their party was escorted by the city watchmen into the long hall, a city town hall of sorts, which housed the Lord Mayor's household. THey would be greeted by the smell of roasting meats. Ser Tygett sat at the head of the table and rose when the Ironborn entered their midst. "Welcome to Lannisport." He began "I am your host, Tygett Lannister, please sit and share our bread and salt - soon the feast will begin!"

Lord Greyjoy and his family made small bows and courtesy as was the green lander custom, though Victarion did walk up to Tygett and grabbed him by the elbow in a more traditional Ironborn handshake. Once all had been presented

"Thank you for the invitation, Ser Tygett, though I must say it almost made me fall of my chair when I read it. Never in my day have I ever heard of Ironborn and Westerlander feasting together in peace. The thought of making history was too tempting to let up, no matter how much my bannermen may call me a traitor and a green lander wimp. Politics on the Iron Islands are a bit more up-front and confrontational than on the green lands, you see."

Tygett staggered, taking the unaccustomed greeting. "Well!" he coughed uncomfortably "I hope that we are not so different that we may become friends." he said with a smile. "Come, please, and sit at my table." Tygett slammed his hand on the table "Bring mead, wine, ale, my guests are thirsty, as am I!" He was in good spirits despite his queer company "Victarion, I am told by my maester that the Ironborn devote themselves to a crueler god than mine, the Drowned One. And that you engage in the queerest of sports, to mine own ears." Once his glass was poured he drained it in one fell gulp, calling for more. "The finger dance, I am told?" He produced a gorgeous silver knife and laid it on the table, as if asking for an explanation.

Victarion smiled as he picked up the knife, playing with it between his fingers. It was a lovely little thing, though he doubted it would do any good to try to sneak off with it without anyone noticing. The iron price was still a part of his soul, his being as an Ironborn. Taking treasures at sword-point had been their way for millennia. An old way, on its way to the execution block, but still standing nonetheless. Victarion eyed the silver piece while he talked.

"Yes, the finger dance is an honored tradition among my people. There are even tales of Harras Hoare becoming king of the isles by winning a finger dance during the Andal Invasions. It is very simple and brutal. At least two people throw an axe between each other, and you have to catch it or leap over it. The name, as you can imagine, comes from the fact that it usually ends with one or more fingers missing. You play it until either one gives up, cannot hold the axe anymore because of having no more fingers, or was unlucky enough to catch the axe with your head. Dagon!"

The younger Greyjoy looked up as his brother threw the knife right at him. Dagon reacted instinctively, catching the blade with his hand. A few shrieks and gasps went up as blood started dripping from his hand, and Dagon made a quick excuse so a maester could see to it and treat it. Victarion grinned as he turned to Tygett Lannister.

"The Drowned God is crueler than your Seven, but he recognizes strength. A man who goes into battle without fear of death will be welcome in his watery halls, to be served by beautiful mermaids at his table. To play the finger dance is also a test of your bravery, so it is also an honorable way to die. Would you like to test your gods against mine, Ser Tygett? It's relatively easy once you learn how to catch the axe."

Tygett was sweating, obviously very uncomfortable. Why in seven hells did I agree to do this? Pure idiociocy! Tygett swallowed hard "Yes, the finger dance, I have been told of these traditions...though as a novice,I hope you will not throw an axe at me!" he said with a nervous laugh. He saw how Dagon snatched the dagge rout of the air, giving no notice to the wounds inflicted. Gods be good, these men must feel no pain! "Lord Victarion, I did not fear death when I assaulted the ranks of my own traitorous brother, Kevan, nor the ranks of the Dornish outside King's Landing." He knew this would be the price of the respect of the Ironborn. Joanna would never have guessed as to his true intentions as to this feast, nor his fear. Tygett slammed his silver dagger into the wooden table and spread th fingers on his hand." Let us play, my Lord." he replied

ooc: I'll do a 50/50 roll to see if Tygett stands up to the finger dance.

Victarion laughed loudly, and his family looked on eagerly. He had never thought that the Lannister would actually take him up on his half-serious offer, but there was no way either could back down now. The Ironborn lord rose to his feet and took his place some feet away from Tygett.

"You are a brave man, I'll give you that Tygett. Are you sure you're not half Ironborn? Your knife will suffice for this, though let's not make this too bloody. Wouldn't want to scare your wife and children, now would we? Best of five throws sounds good to you, the one who has take the least wounds declared the victor?"

Tygett said a silent prayer to his luck before grasping the pearl handle of his own dagger He danced it delicately but quickly across his own knuckles and those of Victarion. Neither of them suffered a single injury. He sighed and passed the blade off to Victarion, who adeptly did the same. Tygett took his blad once again but this time, jammed it down on his own finger, his middle finger. The cut immediately sprouted blood, but the knuckle had prevented the blade from severing the finger. His middle finger was bloody mess and he grimaced. He had lost this round he knew, but he tried not to cry out or call for the master. "Seven hells!" he cried out finally. "Fair enough, your turn." He passed the dagger off
