    Icon1 My map works in Geomod but dont in campaign (HELP!)

    Hey guys, i created an entire new map, it loads and saves in Geomod but dont work in campaign, when i start new campaign my game crash due an unknow error...

    First set your log to trace: open your mod's CFG file and look for the [log] section. There make sure the level line reads like this: level = * trace
    Then run your mod, afterward compressed the log (7Zip is freeware) and upload it somewhere and provide the link here.

    Seems something is wrong with one of your map files - the next file to be processed by your game would be historic_events.txt.

    How big is your mod? If it isn't too much then you could compress and upload it. Please use 7zip this time, simply install the application, then right click your mod's folder and select one of '7zip\add to..' options. Then upload the compressed file.

    I have corrected a couple of things but couldn't resolve the crash - I can only assume that the reason is the unbalanced regions (not enough regions and one of enormous proportion). The first thing I noticed was map_features: there are several areas where you used the incorrect RGB value. I have colored the correct blue in red and the correct white in green - whatever remains blue and white has the wrong value, see pic.


    map_regions: you have a huge number of RGB values for the water bodies - change this to one regular value

    descr_win_conditions: without a number of regions your first campaign will finish immediately, enter numbers for regions to be held

    descr_regions and imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names: never use custom characters (or space) in the data names of anything!
    Example:{L'Aquila}L'Aquila
    Acceptable: {L_Aquila}L'Aquila

    Correct all the above and then add more (evenly sized) regions before testing again.

    Ups i figured what you was saing, forget last post I did the changes you recommend, now my mod CTD but generates map.rwm!!! So it is a progress I dont have more than 20 land masses and dont have any city in inaccessable area or water, so the problem must be RGB values, but i think i have all rgb values correct now... (I also use gimp, so fille formate isnt either a problem)

    No, rivers need to be the correct blue RGB value (0, 0, 255) and springs need to be the correct white value (255, 255, 255). Gig has pointed out that for some rivers and springs you didn't use the right RGB value, to demonstrate that he changed all the pixels with the correct value into a different colour (red and green) to show you which aren't correct (which are the ones that didn't change to either red or green).

    Thanks loli - that's what I meant.

    The RGB values for the regions were fine - but I was concerned about the high number of different colors you are using for water.
    And I am quite sure that the actual problem is the low number and very uneven size of the regions. Have a look at one of my basic maps - they have roughly 20 regions each and they are evenly distributed.

    I also remember that the slave's faction entry in descr_strat is incomplete - no AI entered. Compare with other mods and also correct that.

    This is going down as 'really weird' in my book. I have tried a good number of things and by the looks of it the map generates but why it doesn't start to process the descr_start file is beyond me.

    I'll give it another try at a later stage again. Gonna try to salvage the map and start the set up from scratch.

    I am trying many things too but none is working, I have to admit, this is geting frustrating Sry for give you headaches, can i do something to assist you in this? :/

    Not really unless you want to start from scratch yourself.

    Somewhere there is a silly small (and unusual) error. Unusual because my regular checking procedures have not found it, I intend to radically reduce everything to a minimum and see if I can find it from there.
