Cataphract units ( and maybe other ones )
A little and unexpected matter emerged during a battle: i've noticed that some units such as the cataphract ones ( sassanian and roman, each of them ) show a strange behaviour: they only use the primary attack ( spear ) instead of the second one ( mace or sword ). Is it proper or a bug due to an unbalanced "strt_pri" line in the EDU as i suspect?

Yes Sir! Just give me a few days to check the most of them. For now, i can surely tell you that i began to notice this during a fight between palmyran roman cat and sasanian grivpanvar ( those with maces ), then i made another try using eqv catafractarii and another sasanian cat unit ( kusansahr grivpanvar ), that are a couple of units that should use swords as second weap: same result, that is a battle ruled just by primary attack ( spears ) "from dusk till down"......
