Raiding Force
Rolled a detection of 10. Minus 4 is 6, so the peasants raise a weak defense to the raiders. The peasants are unable to provide a coherent report to any lord the identity of the raiders. The raiders take 1% casualties from the raid.
The raiders extract 1% of the 40,000 dragon province income, so 400 dragons are taken.
ooc : So it is 1% plus 3% from the force being entirely raider cavalry, 2% from having 500 men in the raid and 2% from the commander's pillage trait as mentioned in the rules, or just 1%?
Dornish Raiders (all raider types)
Hire Cost: See Raider units
Upkeep Cost: See Raider units
Skill: Skilled Dornish guerillas, these men of the night are adept at raiding towns and villages as they sleep. A force of raiders will gain -4 on their detection rolls and +3% loot gained. These bonuses only apply if the entire attacking force is Raider unitIn addition, gain +1% for every 250 men present in the raiding party (after the Raid Roll casualties are factored in, and rounded to the nearest 500) up to a maximum of +12% (3,000 men) and +1% for each point of Pillager for any character in the raiding party (max 1 character applied per player, to stop single players exploiting this by sending parties with 4 characters each with +3 Pillager).
Sure, but I'll have you do the math from the base 1% because I'm bad at it and would probably mess it up
Alright. So it would be 1% plus 7% from modifiers for a total of 8%, meaning the raiders extract 3,200 dragons from the province.
----
The raid had been a relatively quick affair, the force of horsemen only meeting minimal opposition from a hastily assembled group of peasants who managed to fell six of the horsemen while losing far more than that of their number in the fighting. While the men of the Redmarch loot the village, the Marshal of Yronwood releases a falcon with a message tied to it's leg to the south, to inform Lady Yronwood of the results of their scouting and to move the main army out of the Boneway and into the Stormlands side of the Dornish Marches.
Afterwards, he points to a hill overlooking the looted village. "Set a camp up there, we wait for the arrival of the rest of our force before moving out again." Yros says to one of his captains, who salutes and gathers a group of men to transport the provisions seized from the peasantry to the hill.
Force
The force of roughly six hundred horsemen arrive in the province of Nightsong, and several small squadrons are detached from the main body to find them a suitable target in the province to raid and if there are any Stormlander forces active in the region, which was their primary objective, with the raiding being a secondary one.
Province Wealth - 60,000
Modifiers :
+2 Pillager(2% to loot roll), +2% to plunder roll(1% per 250 soldiers), +3% from Dornish Raider Cavalry, -4 to detection rolls

[OOC: So to be clear, since the title implies a reconnaissance rather than an attack, this is (mechanically) a normal raid?]
Rolls:
15(-4) = 11, the peasants muster a weak defence and report to the keep.
3 = Vague mention of identity (Dornish).
18 = 18% casualties.
3(+7)=10% loot, or 6,000 Dragons.
The raid is successful but costly, with one hundred and seven Dornishmen killed in the small pitched battle that took place throughout the town, but a strong haul of loot as compensation. Unfortunately, a few horsemen were seen fleeing the scene early in the battle, doubtless to spread word of the invading force.
The raid had started off quite well, but several pockets of strong resistance from the gathered militia, a skirmish outside of the town, and the initial success making the bulk of the horsemen overconfident along with underestimating the Stormlanders after how the raid at Blackhaven had gone led to far higher casualties than the Marshal had hoped for. To make matters worse, a few of the men reported seeing horsemen fleeing in the direction of Nightsong and northwards, meaning word of the Dornish in the Marches will get out to the Stormlords. "Burn anything we can't take with us, we must return to Blackhaven at haste to inform Lady Yronwood of what has occurred here.." he orders his captains while mounting his horse.
Force
The force of slightly less than five hundred horsemen ride out of the mountains of the Dornish Marches into the foothills and eventually plains of the land around Harvest Hall. A small caravan of Stormlanders is ambushed by a forward squadron of horsemen, who ride off with the first of their plunder from the province. They eventually find a sizable town with the keep of the lord of the land in the distance on a hill. "Divide into three groups and strike from different directions. Hopefully we will overwhelm any resistance quickly so we may gather any plunder quickly and then patrol this town and the path we rode here to ensure the main army meets no obstacle to it's approach before we rejoin it." Yros says as orders before the raiders divide up and charge toward the town.

From their siege camp, Lady Yronwood and the other commanders of the host stare at the imposing walls of Storm's End. Construction of the siege towers begins around them, with groups of men marching into the forests nearby to cut down trees with some light troops present to serve as guards for the lumberjacks, and the light horse of the army patrol the perimeter of the camp. "It will take several months for the engines to be completed. I want a constant watch of archers on the castle to attempt to shoot down any ravens the defenders send out to call for reinforcements. Perhaps we should also unleash the raiders on the nearby villages for supplies if necessary." "If that is your wish, my lady, I will lead them." "We shall see if they are needed, my marshal. Until then, ensure the men work on the siege engines and keep a constant vigil, I do not wish to find a host of thousands approaching us with no knowledge of it." Manwoody nods and he and the other captains go oversee the encampment, while Lady Yronwood goes back into her tent to stare at the map of the realm and think of her next move, along with recounting the plunder from the raids on Blackhaven, Harvest Hall, and Nightsong.

Raid: 10-4=6, a weak defence but no word is sent out. 2=2% dead. 4+4=8% loot.
What about the raven roll for Storm's End? Or do I just assume word got out by ship?

With the completion of the siege towers, Lady Yronwood orders her marshal and brother to lead an assault on the walls of Storm's End.
Seriously I haven't even gotten a raven roll yet

Your raven can go out uncontested due to the lack of a complete siege depending on where you're sending it to. Help wouldn't arrive on time anyway surely? I need you to divide the Storm's End garrison between walls and gatehouse.
Never heard back about the raven.

After the castle had been taken and the crowned black stag on gold banners are replaced with those bearing a sable porticullus on yellow, Ravella rides into the keep with her escort of horsemen to meet with her brother and marshal. "Well done, both of you.The castle that, from what I know, has withstood every siege against it along with the storms of Shipbreaker's Bay falls to a host from the Red Mountains." Yoren and his sister both grin, while Yros nods. "Of course, my lady. From the estimates of our captains, we suffered around four hundred casualties in the assault." "I expected more to be honest, considering how formidable the defenses of Storm's End are claimed to be." "Indeed." Yoren pauses for a moment. "What do you want us to do with any Baratheons we find, sister?" "Put them under house arrest for now in their chambers." "What if there are members of other Stormlord houses here?" "Bring any Caron, Dondarrion, or Swann to me, the rest do the same as for the Baratheons." "Understood, sister." Yoren bows and leaves to collect a force of infantry to carry out his lady sister's command.
Ravella then turns to her marshal. "Yros, send some men to find the maester so we may send a raven to Sunspear and the capital to inform the Prince and his grace about the taking of Storm's End." "Of course, my lady. Do you intend to leave a garrison at the castle or remain here for now?" "We shall remain for the moment to allow the men to rest and see if we can learn anything about how the war is going. Keep the horsemen reined in, I do not wish to hear that there was a raid." "Of course, my lady." The marshal bows and leaves to set up patrols, send the men to find the maester, and see to the supplies of the army. Now alone, Ravella looks around at Storm's End. "Hm...I wonder if I should give myself a title to commemorate the conquest of Storm's End.." the Bloodroyal thinks aloud to herself as she makes her way into the keep with her retinue.
The encampment of the army of Yronwood is disassembled as the host moves into the castle to occupy it, although a smaller encampment for the horsemen tasked with still screening the army and any soldiers that can't fit into the castle is established close to the walls near the gatehouse.

The only person of status in the entire keep was Ser Desmond Baratheon, Robert's uncle and commander of the garrison. He had yielded after the walls had been taken, sparing the remaining defenders a painful battlefield death. Now, he was Yronwood's prisoner.
