That stuff with the passive factions in the end is amazing . Didn't know this much money was possible to extract from them. Those nearly 200k you stacked up there in 20 turns are impressive!
One profit optimization opportunity you missed in the end though. You could have saved some money by taking the governor of Ereb Gobel out before constructing to avoid the building penalty. For further building cost optimization, it is valuable to get the wood resource early by taking Heorth (Fiefdom) or waiting till the Beornings have proceeded in Holt to a level that is close to tier 3 wood industry. Building it all up from scratch in an outland, as required in Thrimfeld, takes ages. Heorth will probably be the quickest since Dale should have it developed quite far until you get there and it is the only non-outland with wood for Rhovanion. Next to the direct effects of the building, Master Woodwrights will join governors quite regularly, give a further decrease to construction costs, and can be passed on to enjoy the effects elsewhere.
It is very gratifying to see this kind of engagement with my campaign. I would encourage you to post these kinds of observations directly on the YouTube video's comments section so that other viewers can benefit from your insights. Comments will also help to increase the video's exposure, and, by extension, the mod's exposure. Feel free to copy and paste.

Wambat, I'm engaged with your campaign for one reason. I can learn something there. I'm an overspecialized nerd. I play exactly 3 games, counting mods as games. FATW, EB1, and Diablo 2. Those 3 games I played a lot, so it's hard to learn new things. Yours and Webba's LP added value to my learning about the game, while I was watching the other LPs less regularly and more for enjoyment. Tulkas for example has the greatest potential for an entertaining LP. Rejoice!
So when I give some comments on cost savings, that's purely giving back some tips from nerd to nerd. I was never a big diplomat, but you taught me a lot of useful things there. Of all the LPs I saw so far, yours gets closest to the perfect game. Was good to see that you also miss out on things that I saw in the end. Win-win.
I'll make a youtube account for that comment thing at some point in time. Don't wanna start commenting LPs with my real name. Not sure when I will set it up, feel free to copy paste anything I post here if it's useful somewhere else.
@Dáin II
I am happy to learn you feel my work of value. You will find that making a new youtube account is pretty simple.
My game has become more and more sloppy as it has progressed. In part because I am doing well enough financially that I don't feel the pressure to be perfect. In part because I do not want to publish another "episode 11" if I can help it. And in large part, because my recording schedule has me playing once every 3 weeks or so, rather than every day, as had been the case for years. So my game just is not as sharp as it was when I started this campaign.
My current publication schedule; one episode per week; is intended to give me time to work on other types of videos. I am still working on a tutorial series, and may not even be 1/4 done at this point. I certainly did not appreciate how time-consuming video production could be. Still, once it is done it will be here for everyone forever.
I was really hoping to increase the mod's exposure with my channel, but seem to have hit a wall, with no new viewers in the last couple of weeks. If anyone has some ideas on how I could increase exposure, I would be happy to learn of them.
I need to get caught up again, but I have to second Dain's comments above. Your videos are always a blast for me to watch, because they reveal stuff about the game I didn't know despite having played it since release. I also see your content as documentation for some aspects of the diplomacy engine that we are still learning about!
As for expanding the audience, I think the lack of any updates in the past several months has had something to do with that, which I need to get on rectifying. (Partly this is my fault as I've been AWOL recently due to RL concerns.)
@CountMRVHS: Damn that RL! Always getting in the way of the important things.
Still working on the Tutorials, but here is the latest episode; 16:

@Dáin II: I just remembered that I used to play Diablo II myself quite a bit. That is the game in which I established the Wambat moniker. I think a common thread between the two games is the motivation toward perfection. Either a perfect character or a perfect empire. I think that was the appeal for me in both cases. I am surprised to learn there are still folks out there playing that game.

Yikes - I'm watching Episode 16 right now, and very curious to see how you carry on for another 4 episodes after that setback! Rhovanion vs Adunabar is one of the most uneven (Mannish) matchups in the mod, I think, if we're talking about campaign mode. Probably the "ideal" anti-Adunabar army would involve a majority of Scouts and March-wardens, but obviously that also has weaknesses.

@CountMRVHS : I hope you have had the time to watch some of the later episodes by now. I do recover quite nicely, though I wish I had been a more able diplomat for this first campaign. I have been having some trouble with my sound quality of late, but have not had time to correct it. I think the USB ports on my laptop may be failing. It's always something ...
I haven't watched most of the LP, but WRT to the Adunabar situation, I have a suggestion, though you may have already implemented it:
Sneak an FM into Rhűn to get your hands on mercenary Variag Warriors. They're great to have as an elite reserve against heavy armour. Or you could wait for the release of 3.3.....
I'm on episode 19, and yes, looks like you've turned the tide. Sometimes I forget that you do a *lot* in your turns, so the game is earlier than it would be if I were playing (as I tend to play the game faster & sloppier than you do). So you've moved quickly against Adunabar, which means they're less likely to be sending deathstacks your way - always a good thing. I just abandoned an Elven campaign after failing to act decisively against the Beornings & Adunabar, both of whom swarmed me in the Anduin region. Oh, the death stacks...
One does seem to be defeated more often my monotony than by attrition when playing the Elves. In campaign news, my desktop just took a dump when I tried to turn it on to record my next batch of episodes. I am not sure what I will be able to do about that. I will keep you posted.
