After checking out forums for months for this release, I finally can start playing Rome II again. Super thanks to all involved in this excellent mod!
Question - since I can remember, I've never seen DEI in the announcements news feed on the twcenter front page, why is that?
Well done DEI team! So excited to install this after work! There's an Epirus kingdom to be made!
I would also like to point out Divide and Conquer 1.2 came out today as well (sub mod to TATW). What a great day for the TW community in general!
How to instal?...does this go over the top of 1.1? yeah?
Nope, disable 1.1 entirely if you want to play 1.2. Only use the new files.
thanks
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so pumped for this! Time to ship my wife and children off to the in-laws........
Awesome work, guys. Just started a new campaign and it looks and feels so much better than even 1.1 which was already pretty bloody fantastic.
Finally Rome 2 is the game it should have been 3 years ago.

You guys are the tip top of Modders! Much respect your way! Ya'll found Rome 2 a city of bricks and are truly leaving it a city of Marble! If I can get Rome 2 back up and running I'll be all over this.
Thanks again!
Thank you to all the members of the DEI team! YOU are the best!
Thank you so much team!
Remember that this is just a beta release. We are not near the completed release yet. We just want to catch as many as we can of the regular bugs.
Just want to say I have been using DEI since it came out and love the progression you guys have brought it through! I am familiar with most of the modding components and have done a lot of changes for myself to allow for upgrades in a more unique fashion that goies along with your reforms. However I am not adequate at Lua scripting and was curious if anyone reading this knows if there is a way to write a script that would use unit experience to facilitate upgrades instead of technology?
Just general campaign feedback.
I tried Meroe for a bit, love their units, but my battle against Axum was over in like thirty seconds once javelins started flying (presumably because almost everyone was fighting naked). Their unit skins are awesomely detailed I have to say. I especially like the painted warriors and the swordsmen with the elephant hide shields.
Getting started as the Caledonians is pretty challenging. Everyone hates you, so I decided to build up as big of an army as my settlement would support (14-15 units) and lure Brigantes into an ambush. I've tried for a good start about three times: Iweriu and Delmatae usually declare war on me within the first few turns, and they're a pain to get to and fight. Are barbarians meant to take attrition at sea since they don't get supply ships? I've spent so little time at sea as barbarians that I just don't know.
EDIT: Caledonia feels like it is way too hard (H/N). Iweriu, Delmatae, and Brigantes just spam champions, and the Caledonian units mostly feel inferior by comparison since a lot of them don't have javelins. One defense with like 7000 units the Iweriu champions just annihilated all of my units, even though the enemy was demoralized and weakened from starvation.
