    Faction:Spain .
    Difficulty:Normal .
Mods:Now this is hard .I installed a ton of empire total war great war mods and attempted to to merge them since i am learning It .Then my elder brother joined in the action because he is in IT .What we got was a historical mess .Albeit a very accurate one .The names of provinces are same as those in etw .Britian holds Egypt .Spain has Morroco .Italy has Libya .Mexico,Portugal and Spain exists .Now i am not going to share this mod since as i mentioned before it is a mess .
    Start year:1915 .
Diplomatic condition:Italy is in allies already and Spain is completely neutral .Persia is with Allies .
Aims at least for now :If allies are winning, grab some turkish middle east .If central powers are winning, attack Italy and snatch Libya and Sicily .

Word of warning:This aar 'is' meant to be short and action packed,so do not expect huge stories or novels .But i promise i will try my best that at no single point will you get bored while reading it .

    Intro .

The shots fired at Sarajevo were from just a pistol .But there sound and effects resonated across Europe(1turn=half a month) .For then Austria declared war on Serbia after Serbia failed to accept the ultimatum .Russia foolishly supported Serbia and the aggressive Kaiser even more foolishly supported Austria .Then the so called ‘good’ british and French who in their colonies were killing innocents like devils entered the action along with backstabbers Italy .The sick man then had no other option but to join in too .The Balkans was thus forced to join .Bulgaria on the central powers side and Greece and the rest on the allies side .The lines were set and the great war had begun .

Map of European alliances .Circa 1914 .

But where does Spain come in all this .For the moment it was neutral .But things would change soon here too .

    Chapter 1

    NGS(News,gossip,story) .

In 1915 Spain was a constitutional monarchy ruled by the king Alfonso .In the first weeks of the great war Alfonso whose kingdom was over 8 years behind the rest of Europe in military technology realised its importance and started investing heavily in it .With all of their money put in it the returns would come in the form of tanks and the first planes .
Meanwhile in central Europe and the Balkans the war was on going on a grand scale .It was the first ‘total war’ in history where all the countries politics, manpower and resources were ‘invested’ .

The Austro-Hungarian forces were being given a rather tough fight at the moment by Serbia even though the arrival of Russian troops was being delayed by German advances .By the second forthnight of April though Russia was able to spare some troops for fighting in the Balkans .But the sudden arrival of Turkish troops on the stage who had with Bulgarian help managed to defeat the greeks at the battle of Athens made Serbian doom certain .Meanwhile for the Germans the Sciieflein plan was working out ok,but not as expected as the Belgians put up stern resistance and so did the Dutch who were supported by English artillery units .

In May at the battle of Alsace people first saw the real horror of the war as in a 8 day fight in dense trenches 400000 people lost their lives .The entire Europe was horrified but for the moment hoped that at least the German victory there would achieve some strategic goals .But no the appearance of a French army to retry to take Alsace ended in the battle of Alsace the 2nd where 30000 casualties were sustained .The French were beaten back for now .In the second part of May Turkey signed a non aggression treaty with Britian .

This painting tries to illustrate the horrification of the battle of Alsace .The reality was much more worse .

It was only in July that Alfonso told everyone of his grand plan .Invasion of Portugal .

    The king .

For king Alfonso royalty was more of a burden than responsibility in times of peace .A king meant one who had to make his subjects lives secure, but how could he do that if there was nothing to secure them against .For he last nearly 100 years since the wars of Napolean Spain had only went to war once against the USA and that had ended in a shameful defeat .Now the great war presented a great opportunity for him to finally expand Spanish territory and earn a name in the annals of history forever .For the first few months he had waited patiently for an opportunity and finally in June he got it .Unable to handle the pressures of war and the pressures of useless alliances at the same time Britian had ended its 100 year old alliance with Portugal to concentrate elsewere .It was only then that in a surprise meeting in his posh office in Madrid did he discussed plans of invasion of Portugal hoping that the measly people of the parliament would agree .But no they did not agree to war .

Now in a fix, Alfonso decided to do that what he had been planning since the time he became king of Spain .He discussed plans with his supporters like the army and navy branches .Then on 2nd July while a parliamentary meeting was going on with the constitutional monarch Alfonso sitting bored,a group of gunmen numbering 25 armed with bolt action rifles strode in .They fired key shots and dropped 2 members .Then came the guards .But instead of taking action the guards joined them in the carnage killing 1 more .Everyone put their hands up,everyone except the king .In a solemn and confident voice he explained “All of you parliament members, from today on Spain ceases to be a constitutional monarchy ,from today on I am your only king,an absolute monarch like the great Kaiser of Germany or the archdukes of Austria or the sultans of Turkey .If you agree then you may go out of here alive or else apart from the gunmen most of the important army officials and guards are waiting outside with around 500 men .Now do you agree “.”But this is a coup…”shouted one of the member .A single shot resounded hitting the member straight to the head .The next moment everybody spoke “We agree” .Surprisingly enough the general public too were supportive of this action .The next week Alfonso declared war .

    King Alfonso of Spain .

    The higher ups .

Juan Cortez had been general of the Spanish armies since 1908 ,but unknown to many he was a warmonger who hated peace .For him the news of the war in Europe was welcome and smelled of opportunity .But then as month after month rolled on and since the measly parliament interfeared everywhere in matters of the military the dream of a glorious war for Spain became an increasingly distant dream .So he was pleasantly surprised when the king Alfonso who like Juan kept many secrets asked for his assistance in a coup to gain full power and authority .The plan was simple,to provide a backup just in case the parliament had some powerful supporters .As it turned out they had none .The declaration of war against Portugal did not take the Spanish military by surprise as they were on full readiness for war since those fatal shots had been fired in June 1914 .
Now Cortez readied himself for his carrear’s first ever real war .

Soldiers stand guard outside the parliament during the coup 'just in case'.

    Field dogs .

Corporal Richardo Gabro like all the other men in his unit got a shock on reading the newspaper with the frontline ‘After coup now action, king declares war on Portugal’ .The army had been ready for war anyday since June 1914 ,but to fight a real war after all was a completely different proposition for anybody serving in the army .He himself had served in the army since 1898 having been born in 1878 he was now 37 and still a corporal .But though there was a lieutenant in his unit ,his captain Jovan relied on him more than anybody else in the 35 man unit .The only reason he was not lieutenant himself was because of some part of the dammed education or some course that he had not done .So on that morning the captain called his unit all in one place ,took high ground and said “All you brave men of the 6th special rifles,as you know we are now going to war, finally we have a job,but we should take a pledge today that after the war is done and we are finished we should be hailed as heroes but now cowards,so strive for it even though we have to lay down our very lives for it .And later on after it is over we shall all meet again and share stories of our own bravery ,imagine the glory of the great glory of the moment” .The next moment everybody cried out “Yes captain we are with you, victory to Spain “The captain had the admiration of Richardo .

Captain Jovan with Richardo and others of the 6th rifles just before the war .

You set the scene well, so that readers know what is happening across Europe. The battles so far sound appropriately horrific, with terrible casualties. I wonder if the invasion of Portugal will succeed.

    Chapter 2

    NGS .

After the costly battles of Alscae the French army got a major blow .The german military made headway and was in France by the 3rd week of July 1915 .Elsewere on all other fronts warfare had been bugged down in ugly trenches with scores of men trapped like prisoners or worse like sewage rats in unstrategic trench warfare .Atleast the only consolation for the central powers was that their trenches were better than the much more dirty and temporary allied ones .In Greece the Turks achieved many more victories and after taking Athens also took over Cornith and the best attempts of the british could not help to retake the city .In Africa the first sounds of the great war began to be heard truly making it a world war as German forces seized a british fort on the Angola-South Africa border .But the main part of the action was in Iberia where the Spanish army won a major victory by overrunning a Portuguese border post called ‘Gama border control and defence post’ .The victory was achieved partly due to surprise, partly due to technology like machine guns ,but mostly due to the bravery of the 6th rifles who despite being outnumbered 2 to 1 achieved victory .After this victory the Spanish military made several incrusions and by the end of the week had taken many border towns of the Portuguese and reduced the size of the Portuguese front .The king of Spain Alfonso could have been the most happiest man after fearing of victory at Gama .Spain were now poised for getting to Lisbon .

Map of a german trench .

    The king

One could argue that the most tense moments of king Alfonsos life were those 6 hours on the 20th of July 1915 when the border offensive was initiated .Patiently he sat on the same chair from 6am to noon ,not moving, eating or even drinking water ,just waiting for the phone to ring ,giving news of victory .After he had declared war,he had discussed several strategies with Juan Cortez and finally had agreed that a swift border offensive ,then regrouping the armies together followed by an assault on Lisbon was the best option .By 10.30am the entire Portuguese border had been eaten down, all except Gama post which was the most key post of them all .”What are the 6th rifles doing, taking so much time”.He exclaimed on more than one occasion .Finally when news came of victory he was ecstatic .He celebrated the victory phone call by shaking hands with his generals and even the man who managed the telephone and radios .But all of a sudden he received badnews ,the 6th rifles had not been free of casualties .16 had been killed in the offensive .

The tense atmosphere in the communications room on the 20th of July 1915 .

    Field dogs

For Richardo Gabro ,the Gama outpost represented a target to be captured for nation and family and nothing else ,part of this belief was due to the captains rousing speech given just before the battle .But what frightened him was that his band of 35 men were up against 72 .Thankfully the Portuguese only had Gatlings as opposed to the far more superior German made Maxims used by the Spanish army .
Gama outpost had been built in 1904 when the first signs of a German-Spanish alliance had reached Portugal whose government believed in the saying ‘Better safe than sorry’ .It was basically a huge trench line with a small fort and various outposts .Captain Jovan surveyed the outpost carefully with his binoculars knowing well that his Portuguese counterpart was doing the same .

It was only at 10am that he gave his men the order to advance .Like Napolean had done 100 years before .As they were to learn this was no Napolenic wars .They faced heavy machine gun fire from 3 sides of the fort .At one point after 2 casualties had been taken Richardo Gabro was sure that they would all die .Just then the Spanish Maxims began to fire .All hell broke lose on the enemy side as the front doors of the trench cum fort were destroyed .As he watched with horror 10 Portuguese soldiers who dared to charge were cut down by the Maxims before the infantry men of the 6th rifles could even raise the weapons there squad was named after .After that the remaining 50 or so men begin firing wildly from the trenches .The lieutenant of the 6th rifles fell .General Jovan got a bullet in his leg .3 more men were killed .One soldier a boy of 17 called Carmine Cuneo decided enough was enough and decided to run but was caught by the machine gun men who were told that deserters were to be shown no mercy .To Richardo’s horror he watched as the maxims were just for a split second turned and began to fire on Carmine .That split second was enough to fill him with bullets .Even the captain Jovan waved a thumbs up .Seeing some 4 men to his left taking heavy fire Richardo let loose a fragmentation grenade .It caught the enemy commander right in the belly .All was lost the remaining Portuguese men raised their hands up .But even as they did so there was some miscoordination and the Maxims continued to fire for half a minute more mercilessly butchering 16 men who had put their hands up !

After the fort was taken the happy news was sent by radio to the capital .Then came the worst part of it all .3 men who had attemped to desert apart from Carmine where shot right on the spot and as deserters their families where to receive no compensation .All this made Richardo so sick that he went to the small canteen where the captain and the men were drinking as celebration and dozed off .

Taking care of the deserters .

    Chapter 3 .

    NGS .

All was lost in Greece as victorious Turkish troops finally entered the small town of Pyargos which had been made the temporary capital after the fall of Athens .This was land that the turks had ruled 80 years back .Now they were back .The Greek emperor was caught and imprisoned .On the russian front Germany was victorious as the Russian military was also plaqued by rumors of mass support for Communists in their own ranks .There was also very poor communication due to Russias geography which destroys effective Radio and telegram transmission .The German army meanwhile had secured total victory in southern France and northen Italy taking Nice and Milan .In Iberia there had been hopes of a much more quick and decisive war ,the unfortunate finally happened as the Spanish and Portuguese finally set up trenches around the last stronghold of Portugal, the city of Lisbon .God alone knows why all the nations of Europe want to destroy their youth by sending them to die in these trenches .As for me I would take the hangman’s rope anytime .

    By staff reporter .

What do you think is better .

    Field dogs

Richardo Gabro silently crept up .The Portuguese shell storage house loomed in front of him .He had been sent as a tie breaker .After a week of bloody trench warfare he had been asked to creep up behind the enemy lines to destroy their shell storage which would make a big explosion ,thus winning the battle .Suddenly the sniper on top shouted .

Captain Jovan had tears in his eyes which he was trying to conceal .They had lost another man,not to the enemy but to the disease .Atleast he took consolation from the fact that the newspapers said ‘Spanish trenches living standards much better than German and British ones ‘ .But the damn mice, mosquitoes and lice were making life hell .Gonzalez(the man who had died)had been a good man ,a good soldier .He only hoped that Richardo would hurry up .

Thankfully he was only shouting in a drunken stupor .Richardo unholsted his German made pistol and crept towards the back of the building outside the snipers view .Behind the building was a dead end where the bushes started and seeing a patrol coming up ahead Richardo quickly jumped into them .As the soldier neared the corner he lept upon him like a tiger or a fox and pressed his hands deep into the man’s lips .Before he could shriek Richardo pressed a Chinese pressure point that he had learned during his early years in the Phillipines and within seconds the man was down and out without a sound .The body was swiftly dragged and thrown into the bushes .Then he went inside .

Inside the building there were only 3 men .Of those 2 were listening to some old records in the inner room while a sniper was perched on the 1st floor .The main shell storage area itself locked down and closed for the night .Richardo quietly walked past the room which contained the guards .The door of the shell storage had a lock .Not something over the top but an average one .But while doing this Richardo had to not only not alert the guards inside the building but also the numerous patrols outside .Richardo quickly picked the lock .But suddenly as he opened the door it creaked .He quickly went inside the room and opened the window closests to the door even as the guards came .Richardo was hiding .The 2 men came into the room .After looking around and finding nothing the first man frustuatingly said “Damn, how could you be so forgetfull Bassino, you not only left the door but also the window open .The door is creaking badly due to the wind .”Then he and the so called Bassino locked the door and left .Richardo quickly took out his TNT and planted it on one of the shell racks .Hopefully it would start a chain reaction .The fuse was very long and used some kind of new fuel which would make it burn in a blue and noiseless flame .Then unlocking the door he once again tiptoed through the building around the back and on to behind the outpost fences even as the whole building first erupted like an inferno and then was doused in innumerable hot flames .He would take the road in the guise of a civilian straight to the frontlines .

Scenes of anarchy as the storage building explodes .

On the other side of the frontline seeing the flames captain Jovan gave the order to charge .

    Chapter 4 .

    NGS .

A breaking news special issue:After the seemingly miraculous explosion at one of the most important part of the Portuguese trench lines ,the Spanish finally broke through and then they attacked the remaining Portuguese trench lines from the back .With their support the Spanish military finally entered Portugal .For 2 days the King of Portugal was given a standing time after which he finally catipulated and signed the treaty of Lisbon according to which ‘Spain has full ownership over all Portuguese lands, oversees colonies and the untangible body of the Portuguese government and also open all Portuguese civilians’ .The regiment which issued this breakthrough were of course the much celebrated 6th rifles who have won a special award .

    The portuguese surrender .

    Field dogs .

The Lisbon offensive as it would be known in history books years after it happened was one of the most goriest moments in captain Jovan’s life .After he saw the mighty inferno to confirm that Richardo had done his work ,Jovan gave his men the order “Charge” .Mindlessly the men charged knowing that they might be charging to certain death, charged .For a few seconds after the explosion, the Portuguese had lost their concentration .But like many other times in war ,those few moments proved to be critical as the 6th rifles and 5 other regiments covering a whole 2km of trench lines charged at the same time (The other regiments were much bigger, hence the large area).

In the heat of battle though Jovan was no captain because he also charged along with his men in a land where it was every man for himself .The Spanish Maxims fired at the same time and so did the Spanish shell guns(Who fired on the back lines ,not on the front!)The Portuguese realised that they had no shells left because they had not bothered to bring any shells from their storage that evening.

Jovan himself fired first and then charged .Even as he did he saw a man coming from his left .It was one of those Portuguese soldiers who had gone mad due to the battle .He charged wildly on Jovan like some kind of animal .Jovan reacted equally quickly and kicked the man’s gun out of his hand .Then he himself started running towards the Spanish trenches hoping to outrun him ,at the same time unholstering his own Colt pistol .It was not needed because a Spanish soldier by the name of Augustine shot him dead .Then Jovan saw that Augustine himself was about to take fire from 3 enemies .So he let loose a stick grenade .The three men separated and then Jovan took a potshot on the first man dropping him .He then procceded to fire wildly on the second who dropped dead after Augustine hit him write on the forehead .But the third man was about to fire straight on Jovan .But by pure bad luck ,the 1880 Winchester that he was using burst .The man was severly injured due to this and taking the advantage Jovan charged him and killed him with his bayonet .

After this Jovan took some more shots from behind the safety of some boxes and then jumped into the Portuguese trench himself, killing 5 more men by firing wildly .After 10 more minutes the Portuguese were squarely defeated and their trenches were taken .There were very few prisoners atleast on this stretch of the trenchlines .

3 days later Jovan was along with Richardo still in Portugal, still in Lisbon ,but in a gentleman’s outfit rather than a soldier’s .General Cortez had asked them to be present as guests at the Portuguese surrender .

The picture tells it all .

    Chapter 5 .

    NGS .

In France the end was near as the german military was now in Paris state attacking the last French defense lines .The british ,highly unsuccesfull in he Dutch landings were finally entirely defeated by January 1916 .In Serbia Austrian and Turkish forces had triumphed .The end of the war would have seemed near had it not being for the fact that Britian withdrew all its armies for the continent for defending the British isles .Russia enacted a similar retreat from central Europe .The Kaiser called it ‘cowardice’ .But this was actually making things worse for the central powers as now the British isles and oversees colonies were very hard to attack .It was only on the 14th of January that Spain declared its direct support for Germany by declaring war on France and attacking Brittany which was the last French holding outside Paris .The French are further afraid due to the fact that the legendry 6th rifles who destroyed the entire Portuguese military by shooting one bullet and exploding their shells are participating in the ‘Brittany landings, .

    "Its cowardice",said the Kaiser .

    The higher ups .

Juan Cortez sighed .Arguing with a man like admiral Carlos was impossible .They had been arguing whetre a slight change of direction would be good .Juan who favoured speed over good sailing wanted to go on in the same route but the admiral said otherwise and further remarked “I am the king until the time we reach .Who knew that when the king asked him to move with the troops on the boat ,it would be with this bore .Carlos was much more than simply a namesake of the emperor .He had served in the navy for just 12 years as of 1916 but he had taken part in countless navy drills and fights with natives in Spanish Morroco .They were now halfway through their journey to Brittany well supported by german U-boats who guarded them unseen .

The men were also very enthusiastic .After months of being bogged down in trenches they would get to finally take part in something adventurous like a sea invasion .They did not knew that it would be worse .

    The king .

The king Alfonso had decided after analysing the war that it was best to directly support the central powers who looked to be gaining the upper hand .In a meeting in his small office in Leon he asked his ministers and generals “France is in peril ,I have already declared war on them, what do you think should we do to support Germany .We have 2 choices .Use the German military acces to Fight with them in Paris or capture Brittany which is the last French enclave outside Paris “.Of course like always some men including general Juan started arguing .Juan who had joined the army for power and money wanted to take the easy routes whenever possible and said that peace was better .In a low tone of course .Then an older minister said “Sir we can attck and make a landing in Brittany after which we can quickly support he Germans in Paris if needed by,or even better ,we can simply attack and take French Sahara before Paris and the French government falls “.”An excellent decision and this is what we will do”said the king making a gesture of admiration .

    Field dogs .

The fact that for their importance the 6th rifles had been put on a less overcrowded ship did not make much difference .Richardo Gabro like the rest of them was bored to the core .Britanny was so far away .On board the ship all they did was do some loosning up excersices ,play cards and get drunk with an occasional meeting explaining war tactics ,and of course overeat lemons .Gabro only started to grow excited when they reached closer to France .But they did not have to worry because most of the coasts of Western France were now under German control .

Sweat poured out from Gabros forehead even as the ship had been 20 minutes away from Britanny .The 6th rifles were to be among the first on the shores .They would set up under heavy machine gun and artillery fire the barbed wires and iron shields on the beaches .He took a heavy swig from his bottle of rum .It did little to calm down his nerves .He heard a loud shouting from the flagship which was just adgacent to them .The good for nothing general was having one of his moods again .Apparently he was angry because there was too much cold wind .The rest of the 6th rifles men were having similar thoughts as Gabro .It was going to be a herculean task .Some soldiers were shaking with fear as the boarding was now on the 10 minute mark and they had to be held stiff by their mates .Then finally the first French shell fired .It landed right near the flagship .The next moment the general had retired to his cabin which housed a private lifeboat for him .”Titanic,Titanic amigos ,we are all going to sink like the Titanic in 1912”he blaberred as the door of the cabin closed behind him .Such an incompetent general only made things worse .Fortunately the admiral who was a man of iron replaced the general and gave a rousing speech(unfortunately, his exact words are long forgotten in the anals of history) which improved morale .But by that time machine gun fire and shelling had already struck down a boat .The Spanish guns on board gave a reply .Gabro himself managed to snipe a Frenchman as he attempted to man a machine gun .Then the navy men on Gabro’s ship shouted .”6th rifles get ready, man the smallboats,we will cover you,go we are with you”.Then they manned the boats and soon under good cover of the navy they reached the beach .The 3rd and 27th rifles were the other specialist units chosen for this task .Just then the man to Gabro’s right collapsed hit by a machine gun bullet .Gabro reacted by blindly throwing the grenade, and by pure good luck it hit the right spot making the machine gun useless .Soon they began to set up the barbed wire. But in the heat of the action Gabro hurt his hands on the barbed wire .Undaunted he quickly got to cover and bandaged it .His wound must have been god’s doing because what happened next was horrifying .Even as Gabro got to cover ,the spot where he had earlier stood became a target for 2 well cooked grenades which exploded killing 2 more men instantly .By this time captain Jovan had installed the TNT,the pan was to make huge holes in the ground and then they would cross their own barbed wires from under this holes .The soldiers who would come later would cut these barbed wires .But for now they served an important purpose ,stopping the enemy from making a sudden charge .Just then captain Jovan who had been two quick fell in trouble .He had went too far from the Spanish lines and was now isolated and under direct fire from a dozen Frenchmen .He got shot in his hands and legs .Gabro and Sanchez quickly ran forward under Cortez who quickly started firing wildly with his German made sub-machinegun and drew all attention on himself .Jovan was rescued but Cortez fell with his submachinegun .As Gabro dragged Jovan away to safety he was shouting .”Cortez gets all my medals and honours,I will take care of your family Cortez,go in peace ,comrade”.Just then Gabro who was looking towards the Frenchlines felt to much weight to his side of Jovan’s body as he dragged him .Sanchez had been shot in the leg .Gabro now dragged them both away as somebody from on board the ship gave good covering fire .Finally the rest of the army got down .

The great landings . The brave Cortez falls for king and country after giving covering fire .

Afternoon the tides of the battle had turned .The Spanish had begun to take the upper hand .But the French general was a very shrewd man .He had one last card to play from his deck .He had seen carefully and determined that the 6th rifles were the most important Spanish division .Destroying them would not only decrease Spanish morale but could also change the tide of the battle .So using carefull encirclement he managed to surround the 6th rifles with feint fake attacks on the other Spanish frontlines .Everything had sweetly fallen into place,……but .

Richardo Gabro watched as his army looked to be winning the battle .Suddenly even as French numbers were dwindling the French did something unexpected.A small part of their army attempted direct engagement with the Spanish frontlines even as the remaining army did not support them .Then just as suddenly as the main Spanish frontlines charged towards the opposite direction to pursue the attackers, the French suddenly attacked the 6th rifles head on from all sideS .Within minutes, the 6th rifles found themselves surrounded on three sides by the French and on the fourth by sea .Even as Gabro fought on with all his abilities, his comrades started to fall around him .One by one around 8 of the 6th rifles were dead within a minute .They were outnumbered by great odds .When all looked dark,a sudden hail of gunfire from a submachine gun surprised Gabro .When in utter surprise he turned to see who it was ,he was even more surprised .

    The higher ups.

Juan Cortez had gone inside the room .But what nobody knew was that it was not an effect of fear or laziness .It was due to the tension .True that he had made it as an army general by favours and contacts .But afterall he had been awarded a medal and he had been trying his best to learn, but he just couldn’t handle pressure .Now as he sat in his cabin he felt depressed, how could his own men hate him so much .No he decided as he rose up “Today is the day to prove yourself, your brave men are laying down their lives on the beaches and you are just lazying” .As he watched,he saw that the 6th rifles who were insanely brave and resourcefull people were being caught in a trap .He had learned one thing from his experience,a sudden shock attack from one man can scatter even a whole bunch of enemies .He gathered up the weapon best suited for the task,a german submachine gun ,the first ever portable machine gun .He took up 5 grenades and his pistol and knife and came out from the cabin .”Fedel, come one get ready ,we are going to save the 6th rifles “Fedel nearly fainted with surprise on hearing these words coming out of Juan’s mouth .

A few minutes later Juan was running with 7 others firing widly at the French lines .He also threw all 5 of his grenades at random Frenchmen with devastating results .At the same time he and the other men shouted bad words at the enemy .Within minutes the remaining Spanish had realised the trap and had arrived to help the 6th rifles even as the Frenchmen scatterd .Then somebody sniped off the French general .The Frenchmen unable to take it any more put their hands up .The battle was won .

Jovan and Gabro after the victory had been secured .

I agree, I also like the line about the Titanic and I look forward to finding out what will happen to Jorvan, Gabro and Sanchez.
