The De Rebus Bellicis is a manual of recommended military improvements, not a manual of existing military technology, although some of it may certainly have been experimented with. It's often thought that the Emperor Julian II the Apostate wrote it.
Yes but the image of the Currus Drepanus is from the Notitia Dignatatum. (on wikipedia)
Is there any reason the ND would contain only suggested military designs, rather than just existing ones? My understanding is the latter.

I want Muslim invasions campaign for Attila!
Time to overthrow those decadent Byzantines and imperialistic Persians and build the Ummayyad Caliphate! Time to conquer everything from Spain to India, and create one of the greatest empires the world has ever known.
Maybe Medieval TW Viking Invasion II as a DLC for Atilla?

Someone put the wrong picture in the wrong article. This is why you don't trust Wikipedia.
The Notitia was a register of dignitaries, cities, fabrication centers, and military regiments. That's it. "Notitia" = "List," "Dignitatum" = "of Dignitaries." I have a digitized version of one of the copied manuscripts saved to my computer, and the Currus Drepanus is NOT in it.

Do you know which book the Currus Drepanus comes from? Is it De Rei Militari by Vegetius?

No.
It's the De Rebus Bellicis. By unknown.
The Age of Charlemagne DLC campaign pack takes place just as the Vikings were becoming prominent, and the mod Age of Vikings sets it 100 years later during the height of Viking power. There doesn't need to be another DLC about the Vikings - there isn't really even anything else to do with them.
That's the thing with AoC - it does a wonderful job of following the story of Charlemagne from barbarian chieftain to his crowning as Holy Roman Emperor. At the same time, you get a nice taste of Avar raids, the birth of medieval Italy, the Moorish conquest of Spain, the opening stages of the Reconquista, the Christianization of the Saxons, the first Viking raids, as well as the idyllic setting of Anglo-Saxon England. Essentially, you have the story of Western Europe during the Dark Ages in a nutshell. If CA were to go out of its way to make another campaign involving the West then it would really be overkill.
I'm curious to see what they could do with a story settled in a new and unique location like the Balkans, Black Sea, or the Middle East.

No, he wasn't technically. He was very clearly King of the Franks by 768, and especially so by 771, and the Frankish Kingdom was ever-so-slightly larger than a chiefdom. And as to your quoting of Voltaire's annoyingly overused phrase, he was referring to the Holy Roman Empire as existed well after Charlemagne's death. When Charlemagne was alive, he ruled over a kingdom that very well could have been called both holy and an empire, although the Roman part is much more debatable.
IF there will be a new DLC campaign for the Rise of islam - the map should be like this
With playable factions like:
1.Sassanid Persia
2.Eastern Roman Empire
3.Rashidun Caliphate
4.Avar Khaganate
5.Great Old Bulgaria
6.Khazar Khaganate
7.The Balkan Slavs
8.Indian Faction
9.White Huns
10.Red Huns
11.Axsum
12.Armenia and FLC Armenia
7.
I was thinking, what about DLC for shogun2? Lets say American Civil War or may be Korean expansion? Shogun 2 is probably the best newest Total War with FoTS having similar technic aspects as Civil War in terms of units, technologies, rails,ships,cannons...
Because almost every addition to Rome 2 means adding things from Attila (family view....) so adding things directly to attila mean less work overall.
