Reports are that Allen Iverson has finally been traded to the Nuggets for PG Andre Miller, PF Joe Smith and 2 2007 first round draft picks.
This is a very interesting landing place for Iverson. He'll be able to be the alpha dog for the next fifteen games or so, but once Carmelo Anthony returns from his suspension, you have to ask how they're gonna be able to effectively share the ball. If they do figure it out however, I would expect the Nuggets to become serious contenders for the NBA championship. Meanwhile, Philly gets about as much as they could have hoped for with 2 #1 picks and an expiring contract. It's gonna be a long rebuilding process for them.
So, will Iverson and Melo lead the Nuggets to glory, or will this pairing ultimately backfire? I think that these guys both want to win badly enough that they'll make it work somehow and in the process elevate Denver into a championship contender.
