Re: Research- Thread: Characters and Political Relations
Nice addition! With this around 75% of the campaign map is covered, only eastern europe (including polish, rus and baltic states as well as Ryazan-Murom), south-east regions (including factions like the Ayyubids or Abbasids) and some single states (like Sicily, Croatia or Alania) are left!
@Kjertesvein
I added most of your additions for the scandinavians to the list

Re: Research- Thread: Characters and Political Relations
It'd be nice if there were "vassal" nomad factions under Seljukids.
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Re: Research- Thread: Characters and Political Relations
Hi
An interesting character that probably not a lot of people would think about is the wife of Godfrey of Anjou Plantagenet, that later also married his son, Henry Plantagenet. Her name is Eleonore of Aquitania and the court her forefathers instated where considered the most royal of all of Europe. Kings of the whole of Europe send their children to her court to be educated. What also is very interesting is the fact that she was the duchess of a very powerful. Also, in South-West France, women could rule a Duchy and inherent it like men could. Her court also was of great influence for the origine of the 'fin amor', poetry and songwriting that her forefather Willem the X the Troubadour made famous. He had to learn Latin, but would rather sing his love for women in his own language, the 'Language of 'oc', hence the region Languedoc in France and 'Occitane French'. It would be cool to have cultural and wealth benefits in the game when you own this region. Maybe add troubadours as administrators?
Would this info be of any use? The period I talk about is 1125 - 1204 AD, her sun was also John 'Without land' the first, king of England and before that, Richard Lionheart - that fought a rebellion against his father Henry the Old.

Friend, like you said, she passed away in 1204. Our mod starts at 1212.

@MK-Team
For which factions do you still need chars and relations?
Furthermore I´d like to point out my idea of adding the Principality of Smolensk here once again to "expand" the map more eastwards and to have some sort of a "Novgorod-Equivalent"... Just in case, you want to give it a try. Please take a look. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...-Thread/page38 ... Post #756.
Re: Research- Thread: Characters and Political Relations
Well I think we should add the Habsburger to the Austrians...
I know they were not the ruler of Austria in 1212 - but they become the ruler in 1278 if I remember right... They are to important for the whole European History to be not included!
Do we know how the dutchys work at the moment? As an Austrian is it possible to confederate with other HRE factions? Can I recruit their units? I know they share some units - but it would be cool to recruit an austrian kngiht when playing the HRE for example!
Like he did here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWG9_R-aFr4
By the way... how is it possible that he plays the mod on the campaign map?
Re: Research- Thread: Characters and Political Relations
I saw Sicily is still to be done, so I gathered this on Staufer Sicily:
Sicily
Diplomacy:
good relations: Pisa (Venice/Genoa), Dauphine, Waldstätte, Lorraine, France, Aragon, Castille, Bavaria, Kingdom of Jerusalem bad relations: HRE, Papal States, Provence, Lombardy, Bologna, Hungary, (Genoa/ Venice), at war: HRE, Saxony, (Lombardy, Bologna) alliance: Bavaria, Pisa, (Papal States?) vassals: None. Except if Imperial Crown Struggle, then Dauphine, Savoy, Bavaria, Lorraine (as Staufer equivalent to HRE Guelph vassals) trade: Pisa, France, Aragon, Jersusalem, Cyprus, Antioch other infos: Strong noble faction
nobles:
King: King Friedrich I. von Staufen of Sicily (1194-1250) Queen: Constance of Aragon (1179-1222) heir: Heinrich VII (1211-1242) part of royal family:
- other nobles:
Walter of Palearia ( +1229)
I'm not quiet sure about diplomacy. But im guessing that the Staufer/Guelph stuggle is dominating the HRE in a 1212 start date. Or does the team have other plans, and if so what is the general diplomatic status in the start date?
Anyway I sided all Ghibelines (Pisa) and Staufer supporters (Lorraine, Dauphine, Savoy, Bavaria, Waldstätte) against the Guelphs (Bologna, HRE, Saxony, Friesland, Thüringen, Austria for balancing and maybe Lombardy but they could be a third party still hostile towards the Staufer). Venice and/or Genoa could be added to both side depending on balancing I guess. This can be escalated depending on how escalated the conflict is supposed to be at start of the game, if i'm making any sense.
Papal relations are complicated so I would make an alliance with bad relations or something like that. (Pope as former educater and regent and future enemy)
Hostility towards Provence to forshadow Anjou invasion 50 years later?

What about the Archbishop of Canterbury? Feels like that guy would be pretty important.
