After a long but calm journey Marcus Aemilius Lepidus and his family arrive in Pergamum taking their residence in the pro-consular villa. It was nothing like the Domus Aemilia Lepidus and it even lacked a fountain. However Marcus was hellbent to make this pro-consulate his home. As a first order of business he sends the local Queastors to asses how much Tax can be collected.
An X amount of time later they return with the 7,500 denari figure.

A messenger arrives from Roma.
Salve, Pro-Consul Lepidus,
The amount for your province to pay for the tax according to my estimates is 1,875 denarii. Your Quaestor can arrange transportation for the sum to Rome from the port of Pergamon. May Fortuna smile upon your efforts in the province.
Quaestor Mergus
A letter arrives for Proconsul Lepidus.
Salve,
Your proposal is sound, and I will do what I can to make sure that Crete is given to you to deal with. My son would be glad and honored to serve under you.
Consul Lucius Villius Tappulus
A letter arrives for the new Pro-Consul of Macedonia.
Salve Pro-consul,
As queastor I request you send your 25% owed tax to the treasury of Rome.
Signed, Claudius Aemilius Lepidus.
