Hello everyone, here's a mod I made for a new nomadic faction (with the option to settle, very difficult to achieve victory without it), the Avars. Here's the description from the steam page.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=780379633This mod accelerates the potential Avar invasion to the late 4th century. Latecomers to the migration period, the Avars were a Turkic group from around the Altai mountain range with a shrouded past. A group of warriors, noted to have been somewhere around 20 000 strong, they moved through the former Hunnic empire that had fragmented following the death of Attila and absorbed many groups before attacking the Carpathian basin, subjugating such groups as the Antes and the Gepids. Their society would change over time and gradually come to adopt much of the Slavic culture before crumbling to internal and external threats late in the 8th and early in the 9th century.
Features :
- Unlocks a new faction, the Avars (replaces the Magyars), from the Nomadic group. The Avars, unlike the other Nomads, can settle and have access to the Slavic Zadruga, and have their own unique building, the Ring of the Avars, replacing the T5 Barbarian civic stronghold;
- Fresh new roster : the Avars mix the fearsome steppe cavalry with barbarian auxiliaries, with multiple Slavic troops from the vanilla game and some Germanic specialists. 20 new units complete the roster to best illustrate the mounted elite of the Avars and their reliance on subject soldiers to fill their ranks.
- Complete and functional mission system with victory objectives, pushing the player to conquer the historic homeland of the Avars, face off against their enemies, find their historical friends and to ultimately outdo their military achievements.
Known problems : the cavalry unit cards are fairly poor in quality and I'd be more than happy to receive any help in either learning how to do better ones or for someone to make better ones.
An early test had some crashing at the tail end of AI turns that did not repeat, but the last playtests went without a single crash, so I may have fixed the problem already. I'd appreciate any info concerning crashes.
Any comment and criticism is appreciated.
