Maximising Commerce Return from Province

Hi there,

Ill provide screenshots later, but im hoping someone can help me,

I keep reading on forums about people who are managing to make 15k - 20k per province but at the moment for me that looks like a fairy tale. Atmittedly im not fully upgrade in the tech tree, but the most ive been able to muster is 4k.

In mauretania for example, i have 3 x Lvl 4 Trading Ports, and 4 x Lvl 3 Neptune Shrines , but my income is 2.5k,

what am i missing, it seems it must be something obvious?

Im playing Rome if it matters?

If someone has a screen shot of one of these powerhouse commerce provinces that they could share it might help me see what im doing wrong?

point is to look for what your province is good with, and strengthen it with certain building bonuses.. for example, Latium - its province with Wine and Olive resources, therefore it is beneficial to focus on agriculture, and build buildings that provide increased revenues from agriculture. Combined with research bonuses, character bonuses and edicts, you can maximize the the revenue..
