rome total war barbarian invasion has stopped working

I'm running Rome with the Fourth Age Mod and it keeps randomly CTD'ing either entering the battle screen or exiting it. I have contacted the developers for the mod for support and
according to them,it could be a memory leak error. The exact error message,which I enclose below,leaves something to be desired to figuring out what's exactly
is causing the problem,so what would be my best way of figuring out what's causing this more precisely?

Does your game also randomly CTD when not using mods?
If it doesn't, the problem should be directed at the mod authors only bro.

Do you make regular saves for example every 4/5/6 turns, also do you come completely out of your game every one - one & a half hours to reset your ram? I also use LAA software(free, just google it) which allows RTW to handle in excess of 2gb of memory which I have found to be useful with all mods, especially those with a lot of content. I am playing this mod as an LP on youtube at the mo(26 episodes so far) and no problems with ctd's, each LP is without saves during gameplay of approx 5 turns. Hopefully this info might help.

I never exit the game when playing, even when playing for 8hours straight.. Never CTDs on me.
So I really think this is a mod-related thing.
