Has anyone ever seen Portugal actually expand in India?

From all the games I've played - with modded AI or not - Goa gets conquered in a few years and Portugese presence in India is gone for the rest of the game. Has anyone ever seen the Portugese colony not only survive, but also expand?

Not for me. Portugal mostly ends up getting conquered by Spain in my games.

playing with Imperial Destroyer mod, I see Portugal expand many times. In my corrent French campaign, Portugal lost Goa invaded Carnatica and Gujarat 2 times with no success and then shifted is attention to america. Now they control the Bahamas, México and the region south of México.

Portugal, like its historical twin, is very stretched protecting its trade routes and its possession in India. Portugal requires a large navy in order to protect its income. This is expensive, so it is struggle. I enjoy playing Portugal in my trials. Perhaps I should play another faction to see what happens with them.

I'm playing Spain in the Imperial Destroyer VDM mod and I was very friendly and traded with Portugal until the English convinced them to attack Spain. Unfortunately they will be soon crushed, and their King punished, but their people will be spared and respected.
