    Default Full Screen not working - Linux

    I cant seem to get full screen working in this game, I've:
    • Putting the contents of ebii.cfg to have:
      Code:
      [video]windowed = 1
      movies = 1
      borderless_window = 1
      campaign_resolution = 1920 1080
      battle_resolution = 1920 1080
    • Put the contents of medieval2.preference.cfg to have:
    • Code:
      windowed = 1
      borderless_window = 1
    • I've also used the wf_switcher.jar

    None of these things are have worked. Has anyone else encountered this on Linux?

    Does the resolution in the top part actually match that of your screen?

  3. #3

    Yes it does

    Try changing the = 1 to = true instead.

    in .local/share/feral-interactive/Medieval II Total War/VFS/Local/preferences there's a medieval2.preference.cfg file, try editing that one and see if that works.

    Sorry I skimmed over the OP and I didn't see that you already messed around with that file. Maybe try editing the resolution in medieval2.preference.cfg instead of ebii.cfg? I had the same problem and I think that's what I did to fix it but I don't remember for sure.

    I've just tried setting it as either 1 or true, and it doesn't make a difference unfortunately.

    I've also tried changing the resolution in the medieval2.preference.cfg file, but the resolution gets reset in that file whenever I start the game.

    Set your medieval2.preferences.cfg to read-only once you've edited it.

    I had the same problem with the fullscreen and could fix it.

    But now my game looks stretched in campaign and battle mode.

    Does anybody have a solution for that problem?

    Thank you for your help!

    My ebii:

    Code:
    [video]
    windowed = 1
    borderless_window = 1
    campaign_resolution = 1366 768
    battle_resolution = 1366 768
    movies = 1

    Code:
    [video]
    anisotropic_level = 4
    anti_alias_mode = off

    autodetect = 0

    I've tried that but it doesn't seem to make any difference unfortunately, its almost like this file gets ignored.

    Enable "widescreen" in video options.

    I've copied your video section and overwritten my own video section of the preferences file. It still doesn't go full screen however.
