    Default CA .cas exporter released

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...do=file&id=936

CA have very kindly releases a .cas exporter plugin for 3ds max 7, 8, and 9.

This was written by ER at the .org
    Just so everyone's clear:

    - in RTW .cas files are used for models and animations in RTW
    - in M2TW .cas files are used for battle map/strat map animations and strat map models (not the battle map models)
    - this is an exporter only, use Vercingetorix's importer to get TW assets into 3DSmax

    Just to recap:
    - in M2TW .cas files are used for battle map/strat map animations and strat map models (not the battle map models)

    And again:
    - in M2TW .cas files are used for battle map/strat map animations and strat map models (not the battle map models) - there is no way to access M2TW battlemap models at this time
A great big thank you to CA, as this is the 2nd mod tool from them in a day!

Yes, this is good news. If CA continues to be this nice maybe we'll get a battle models exporter.

    Thanks CA!

Does this mean that the modders can fix the two handed animation bug?

    I second that question.

/me knows nothing about 3D animation.

Also is there any indication whether this tool can help us with fixing the gunpowder unit "retracting" due to getting shot at? It makes gunpowder units VERY frustrating to use.
This is my signature. Isn't it awesome?

Showgun announced that more goodies for the modders are on the way on their forum. However it was not sticked and most people just skipped it so it's likely on page 20 by now.

So I'm guessing there might be some editors for the battle maps coming and hopefully a way to edit text and the battlemoddb file.

If you want a battlemap editor just put this into the config file
    Code:
    [features] editor = true

I have not yet begun toying with modding this part of the game, but I would like to say:

Thanks CA for your support of the modding community!

Their attitude and support is very encouraging. Here's to an amicable and long term relationship.

I just copied that last bit from the FAQ, but what I found is that my game doesn't work with it just like that. I have to do this:
    Code:
    [features]
    editor = true
Without the "editor = true" part on a separate line, it doesn't work for me. Try that.

Can someone tell me how can I use this program? I did not understand its readme file (CAS exporter.doc)

So, I have a Max7, Max8, Max9_32bit and all of them includes cas_exporter.dle (in the plugins direct). Whereby further?

You need to have 3dsmax 7, 8 or 9 in order to use this. And Vercingetorixes .cas import/export script he did for RTw in order to import .cas files.

For example, "AUTODESK 3D Studio Max V9.0 X32 X64 Xforce" (its full name) is a right program?

Just don't tell Autodesk you're using that pirated copy of their software.
