So his motive was "crazy" rather than "jihadi". Got it. This doesn't exactly look like some grand plot of Shia-inspired terrorism emanating from Iran or Hezbollah. I think my comment from a previous page about this being the same day as Breivik's shooting in Norway still stands as highly relevant, even if this guy isn't a white nationalist or targeting political lefties specifically. If you'r crazy enough, anything can serve as an inspiration for a copycat-style attack on civilians. I'd classify this as a shooting spree rather than an act of terrorism, though, with no seeming political motive behind the attack.

There's no indication that this guy was an Iranian-German Nazi, though. If he was such a proud Nazi then he wouldn't be attacking random German people, would he? I guess anything makes sense in the mind of a crazy person.

My condolences.
I had a feeling that it was bound to happen, those terrorist attacks are random acts done by lone wolves, quite hard to detect.
A German politician actually highlighted this fact, lone wolves are very likely to strike.
ISIS has to be put out of it`s misery, all European states will have to double down on promoting secularism, wahhabism will have to be combated and a bigger attention be given to integration.

I agree. ISIS needs to go and so does Wahhabism and Saudi funding of mosques around the world. However, that has nothing to do with this shooting spree. This guy was just a nutter. If he was a jihadist, he wouldn't have shot himself. As an Iranian he also wouldn't be fighting for Sunni Islamic causes like ISIS, because they consider the Shia to be heretics in need of beheading.

It`s indirectly linked, ISIS, by simply existing, has given those nutters cause to act by creating this climate of uncertainty.
Concerning European attacks, I think failing to integrate and failure to promote secularism has played just as big role in the attacks as wahhabism did.
He might be a shia, but at the end of the day he might identify as muslim as opposed to christians and "non-ers" like ethnic Europeans.
He did yell that he is German, that is partly nice to now that people as distinct as Iranian might assimilate this fast.

Correct me if I`m wrong but he is first generation German, so him identifying as German and as Arab/Iranian is quite well for the standards of integration.
I have a feeling that he had serious problems not directly linked to fanatical religious indoctrination but that doesn`t mean that didn`t play a role in motivating him...being the drop that filled the glass.
