Callan is an isolated village deep in the heartlands of East Anglia, full of conservative, godfearing men and women. That the death of Pastor Daniel came as a shock is an understatement, doubly true when it came to light that the wounds he suffered in the church hall were not at the hands of a fallen chandelier as initially suspected, but indeed through the nefarious act of repeated stabbings to the heart.
While the villagers were quite ready to cast this crime aside as a one-off, the sudden demise of farmer Rogers, his head removed from his body and not by the constant whining of his wife this time, has put the people on edge. There were murderers in their midst, and it was up to them to see that they were brought to justice.
