DarthMod doesn't activate- My Empire is still vanilla, not DME

With my unmodded Empire: Total War (some save games left over from vanilla playthrough) I installed DME 8.0 and then patched it with 8.1.

When I start up Empire from the DME launcher, I get the whole DME imperial splash when the game starts, but after that I just get the default Empire menu.

Do I need to reinstall Empire fresh before I install DME? Is there any fix aside from just deleting and re-installing? (Fine with that, I'd just rather not lose my campaign- not much of an issue if I need to, though.)

I've just done a fresh reinstall of DME. Verified integrity of ETW, followed instructions to the letter.

Still the same bloody problem.

Okay, how do I stop the launcher automatically launching ETW? AFAICS, this is the last thing I can try before I just give up.

Right, I'm bloody done. The support forums are empty and DME isn't working. Screw it, I'm out.

I am a little unclear on the issue?

is it you can't install DME?
you can but it crashes?
you can, but you are trying to continue a vanilla save?, whlst playing DME
something else?

i Got the same problem. I set everythign up and install it. Main Menu ad stuff is DME but as soon as i start campagin, everything is vanilla..

Garrisons, Units, Effects.. everything

It used to work before

Same problem.
I make my configurations with the Darthmod Launcher, make sure that I am running it and start the game. The Darthmod startup-screen and menu shows up, but in-game the mod doesn't work. I am running Windows 10 aswell...

It's a bummer, because I really want to play a playable Empire game.
