Kromley, still a young man was uncomfortable with asking men to fight and potentially die for him. "I will send ravens to my brother and see what he says." And so the ravens flew, communicating as best they could the situation of the war. Ralf never invoked the treaty as he wished Greywater Watch to remain a safe haven for his house if everything went wrong. And did not want the starks to get involved in a internal riverland conflict. So the years and the war went on, until word arrived of the wars end.

So it was mixed feelings that he came to Lord Reed and informed him of the situation. "Lord Reed, the war is over and my house has lost. My brother Ralf will go to the wall, and my other brother Roremund will become lord of Raventree hall." it was the next part that lead to his mixed feelings. Lord Umberm of Last heart arrives to Greywater Watch, seeking a meeting with it's Lord.

The swamps of the Neck are treacherous for any but the Crannogmen who dwell there. Lord Umber and his men soon find themselves lost deep within the swamps, with no hope of finding their way out. A splash and a slither, as well as a sudden thrashing noise as huge and powerful jaws clamp down on a large snake give the Umber and his men a terrible fright. The sorry souls are left stranded on a small island for hours, until a group of small men walk out of the mist. Armed with tridents, hatchets and short swords, as well as bows and slings and javelins, the small patrol paints a fearsome picture. A man steps forwards, scratching his wiry beard. "Tell me, Lord Umber, what possessed you to start wandering around the most dangerous place in the Seven Kingdoms - without a guide?

"Northern stubbornness it would seem. No swamp can beat an Umber! Now, tell me who are you ? "

The small man looked at him wryly. "Tell that to the lizard-lion that was about to have you and your men for afternoon tea." He swats a fly that tried to bite his neck. "I am Lord Howland Reed. I'm curious as to why you are so desperate to get through my swamp."

"Lord Reed, I am Jon Umber, Lord of Last Heart. May I ask that we retreat to the warmth of your keep to discus matters of trade?"

'Fraid not, my Lord. The old.legends about my castle are true - Greywater Watch does in fact move. Currently it is about 200 miles away, on the Southern edge of the Neck. We are simply here to hunt Lizard-lions. It was sheer chance we found you.

"200 miles ?!" Umber rashly spoke.

"Damn Lord Reed how do you get home after a good night of drinking eh? " Jon jokingly spoke before erupting in laughter.

"I'd take anything over this damned swamp. Lead the way my Lord."

Howland smiled and led the band of men through the swamps. Once they had arrived at the camp, and they had been fed, Howland settled down to speak to Umber. "So what do you need, Lord Umber?"

"I wish to establish trade lord. Currently I have no trade agreements so you can see I am in need of some."

Howland laughed madly for a second or two. "You got lost in the most vicious swamp in the world for trade?! How could I say no when you went to such trouble? Aye, we'll trade."

Umber grins with a big smile "Very well Lord Reed, if you find this funny you should see what we Umbers do when we seek a hand in marriage!"
