Dear all,
I recently had the good fortune to move to London, and seeing as the headquarters of both CA and Sega Europe is less than an hours train ride away, I've been floating around the idea in my mind that maybe we (the MIITW community) should send a "delegation" in person to meet with both representatives from both CA and SEGA for "round table talks" about the status and future of MIITW (if any). My goal is the gain clarification, once and for all, after years of yo-yo speculation, high hopes and the unfortunate failure of our own memory-editing project for various reasons, about whether MIITW will ever be released with lightened hard-code limits. I wish to see an official response from both, in writing and in person about this issue. We know they said that fans could edit MIITW if they wanted too, but it has proven too impractical with our limited resources and constraints. This mission may be our last meaningful attempt to have CA do the changes for us, for whatever price.
What do you think about the idea of sending a delegation in person to meet with reps of CA and SEGA in person. An officially TWC sanctioned, community supported delegation to speak on behalf of the MIITW community (and perhaps Rome as well because it is the same engine) If any think-tanks live in the London area, maybe we could meet and discuss options?
As well as presenting points and alternative (business) strategies for MIITW rather than demands, I would also suggest putting fan-developer relations and autonomy on the top of our negotiating list as well.
B
